Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why doesn't my CPU/Memory usage match other monitoring apps?
A: CPU Usage Meter Pro uses the same calculation methods as Apple's
Activity Monitor to ensure accuracy. Different apps may use varying
calculation methods, which can result in slight differences. Our readings
should closely match Activity Monitor.
Q: How do I enable "Start at Login"?
A: Click the toggle switch for "Start at Login" in the app's main window.
You may need to grant permission in System Preferences > Users & Groups
> Login Items.
Q: The memory purge button isn't working. What should I do?
A: Memory purging requires system permissions. Ensure the app isn't
sandboxed or try restarting the application. The purge function works
best when you have available memory to reclaim.
Q: Can I change the update frequency?
A: Yes! Use the "Update Interval" dropdown in the app to select from 0.5s
to 5.0s refresh rates. Lower intervals provide more real-time data but
may use slightly more CPU.
Q: The app isn't appearing in my menu bar. How do I fix this?
A: Try quitting and restarting the app. If the issue persists, check
System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Accessibility and
ensure CPU Usage Meter Pro has permission.
Q: How much system resources does the app use?
A: CPU Usage Meter Pro is designed to be lightweight, typically using
less than 0.1% CPU and minimal memory. The app is optimized to monitor
your system without impacting performance.
