Connemara Pony Breeders' Society of Australia Inc

The death last Tuesday of Ian McDuie leaves a sad gap in the lives of his family and his friends. It also closes a chapter in the story of the Connemara Pony Breeders Society.

Ian, who had an encyclopedic knowledge of bloodstock from his longtime professional involvement in the industry, had an equally impressive familiarity with the bloodlines of Australian and Welsh Ponies and especially of our Connemaras.

He was one of the Society's longest-serving inspectors, operating usually in New South Wales but, on occasion, out-of-State. He was always willing to make himself available for work, even if it meant a long drive to assess just one colt.

Speaking for myself and for Ian's fellow inspectors I can say that we will miss his knowledge and his courtesy.
