ProLiteracy’s “ESL Tutor Training” is our basic training platform.
ESL Tutor Training is broken down into five videos which you can view at your leisure.
The first two videos (PART ONE below) should be viewed within the first month or two of volunteering.
The remaining three videos (PART TWO below) can be viewed within your first year of volunteering.
The content in these videos was developed by ProLiteracy together with various Literacy Councils across the U.S.
We then meet occasionally throughout the year in “Tutor Talk” meet-ups to debrief, ask questions, share ideas, and develop a community of practice.
PART ONE:
Please plan to watch these videos within the first month or so of volunteering.
They will set the foundation for the work you do with our adult English learners.
