Mercy Asiima Kateera is a highly experienced Chartered Executive Assistant (CPEA TM) and a member of the American Academy of Project Management (AAPM). She holds a Bachelor's Degree (with honors) in Development Studies from the Uganda Christian University – Mukono, and is currently pursuing the Management Development Program with the Strathmore Business School.

Other certifications attained include but are not limited to: - the John Maxwell Leadership Program, Franklin Covey's 5 Choices to Extraordinary Performance and the 4 Disciplines of Execution, and the Leverage Management Training Program.

Ms. Asiima is the first and only East African to win Africa's PA of the Year 2019 awarded by the Executive PA. She is multiskilled due to her exposure to multicultural operations in companies where she has enjoyed serving, like the Serena Hotels Uganda, The Parliamentary Network on the World Bank, and The Dr. Hoffman Foundation Zürich, Switzerland. She acquired skills like Corporate Communications, Budgeting, Business Strategic Planning, Advertising / Marketing, and Training.

She possesses a strong family and community spirit. However, she cannot stand people with derogatory behavior towards others. "It has never hurt anyone to be kind, and here I do not mean softness. Kindness is very different from softness. Amisha Sethi in his book – “…It Does not Hurt to be Nice …” and further illustrates that "Life is like a boomerang where each released vibration, positive or negative, comes back to you in the same form of energy."

Finally, breaking the stigma towards persons working in hospitality and the administrative professions is at her core and she hopes that her experiences will inspire other young professionals, particularly women, not to restrict their ambition.
