Take a Sack, Bring It Back - to benefit Lighthouse
Deacons are running the Annual Food Drive to benefit the Lighthouse Emergency Service North, for their Thanksgiving Program. There are grocery bags at both of the doors. Feel free to take one or two, however you can help.
There is shopping list stapled to the bag. Through November 16, we will accept donations of food – or gift cards if you want, they can always use those, (The Scrip program has Meijer and Kroger gift cards, and more.)
Thank you on behalf of the Deacons and Lighthouse North

More Information:
Bible Studies: For July and August, the discussions have been about "Different Women of the Bible." Women are often mentioned in the Bible, but little is typically said about them and their backgrounds. Some were powerful and notorious. Bring a Bible or borrow one from us. There is no cost.
Prayer Shawl Ministry: The group makes shawls, which are given to people needing special prayers and comfort. Are you just learning to knit or crochet? We have materials and plenty of help. There is no cost.
Jewelry-making Class: These free classes are led by Jenny Sansom, author of Healing with Gemstones (2023). Make your own jewelry and take it home, with the only cost being for your supplies. For example, earring supplies for $3 or a simple bracelet for under $10. It's a fun learning experience with a group of friendly people.
Garden Work Bee: Help sustain our Monarch Butterfly Waystation garden--help the butterflies and other pollinators. Learn about the plants, and share in some of the extra plants when we do thinning. Bring your favorite digging and trimming tools (and we have extras), and have fun playing in the dirt!
Adult Choir: Come sing with us! The adult "Chancel" choir helps lead the congregation for hymns and responses, and we typically have a special anthem each Sunday from September into June. Besides our Wednesday evening rehearsal, we meet at 9:40 a.m. on Sunday to warm up and review our music. Directed by Eric Johnson, an accomplished pianist and certified Colleague of the American Guild of Organists (CAGO), we do a variety of music to support the church season and the day's message. Join us any time throughout the year!
Handbell Choir: Do you want to expand your handbell experience or maybe give it a try? We have a large set of bells and can easily welcome more ringers! The handbell choir is led by Eric Johnson, Director of Music, and plays regularly, about once a month.
