Use the audience figures alongside a clear plan for your group.
An Active Matter evening is easier to arrange when everyone agrees on what they want to play. A player-count check can add useful context, but it should sit beside the group’s mode, start time and expectations. The Steam population is one observation about activity, not a guarantee of the session ahead.
Checked 22 October 2026. ActivePlayer’s Active Matter player-count dashboard displayed the following Steam statistics:
Concurrent Steam players: 3,597
Displayed 24-hour peak: 4,505
Average concurrent players, “Last 30 Days”: 3,871.6
All-time recorded Steam peak: 10,784
The current count was timestamped 13:29 UTC; the history table was updated at 13:38 UTC. These are dated observations, not a live counter embedded here. “Last 30 Days” is a rolling window, while October 2026 is an incomplete calendar month. Steam figures exclude other PC storefronts and platforms.
Check the Active Matter Steam store page for the game’s PvE and PvPvE extraction raids, solo or small-squad options and separate PvP battles. Agree on the kind of experience first. An overall Steam count does not show which of those activities people have selected.
Write down the approximate start time and the settings relevant to your group. If matchmaking takes longer than expected, record that observation with its context. It describes your queue, rather than every player’s experience across the game.
The rolling average summarizes simultaneous Steam activity across a defined period. The current count is a single observation, while a peak captures a maximum. None of those figures is a unique daily-player total, and they should not be added together.
October is still in progress. Avoid comparing that partial calendar period with a completed month as if they covered equal time. Keep the source labels visible when saving a note for later.
A short record can include the mode, approximate time and one practical observation for the next session. Keep the source timestamp beside any population figure you copy. That makes a later comparison easier to understand.
The ActivePlayer game directory offers other multiplayer histories to explore. Compare like-for-like statistics, then let your group’s preferences guide what you play together.
