Ashlyn McClelland
I am a current senior at Pennridge High School. Next year, I plan on attending Penn State University as a pre-medicine major. After college I hope to graduate from medical school, in order to become an orthopedic surgeon. I have a younger sibling, Kaleigh, who is in middle school, and a pomeranian husky mix named Kelce. I was a part of the powderpuff team along with the Unified program.
I have been playing softball for fourteen years, and eight years on the competitive level. My life mostly revolves around softball. Playing ball has provided me with so many skill sets and favored personality traits. These include responsibility, teamwork, leadership, and being cool under pressure. As a pitcher, I learned what it is like to deal with stressful situations. I carry those traits with me into school and the outside world. My school softball season has gotten suspended due to COVID-19. This is very upsetting because we all look forward to this season in particular, and it was ripped away from us.
