The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted all aspects of life in New York City, from healthcare and housing to food access and education. The city government and New York community are dedicated to mitigating the impact of the pandemic for all New Yorkers. Many city resources are available to all city residents, regardless of immigration status or ability to pay.
To keep you informed of the latest developments and resources, the City of New York maintains the Resources for Immigrant Communities During COVID-19 Pandemic website. This site provides information about healthcare and testing, food assistance, housing and utility, public schools, worker support and financial assistance, public safety, status of legal proceedings, and more. Human translations are available in Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Bengali, Haitian Creole, Korean, Arabic, French, Urdu, and Polish.
Like the city government, the New York community is here to help as well! Non-profits, community associations, religious organizations, and similar groups operate all across the city to help all those who need help amid the pandemic. Please see the Robin Hood Foundation’s list of emergency resources, which lists non-profits that can help you with food assistance, education, childcare, cash assistance and loans, and healthcare.
