My Greatest Tech Fear

I used to think that technology did not belong in a math class. Throughout volunteer hours and observation hours, I have now seen the benefits of technology in a math class. I feel pretty comfortable with technology so I believe my fear of technology would stem from picturing myself as a teacher with technology in my classroom. I believe my biggest fear is that my students will use the technology in our class in a disrespectful or non-productive way that will hinder their learning instead of helping their learning. I worry that I would not be able to stop this misuse or my students would not respect the time that they received to use technology in the classroom. I worry that I would be oblivious to the misuse and my students’ math knowledge would suffer because of it. A “sub-fear” if you will, that that I have is that my students will learn how to hack the technology used in the classroom so that I cannot monitor their progress. I fear that my students will take advantage of our resources and become distracted which will hinder my students’ learning.
