Manipal-Coursera brings to you #ShowYourSkill 2022 Challenge

Why stop only at learning! Demonstrate the skill that you have learned from Manipal-Coursera program in 2022 and get rewarded!

What is it about?

The #ShowYourSkill-2022 challenge is open to all learners of the Manipal-Coursera programs sponsored by MAHE Manipal, Sikkim Manipal University, MAHE Dubai, Manipal University Jaipur, American University of Antigua, TAPMI, and Manipal International University. In this challenge, you need to demonstrate the skill learned from the program to solve or make the case for solving a problem. The problem statement could be anything from improving revenue for a neighbourhood stall to documenting the climate change happening around us.

The competition will in 5 skill-tracks and you can participate in only one of them.

Skill Tracks

TECHNOLOGY

Usage of emerging technologies such as AI, Data Science, IoT, Cyber Security, mobile app, web app and Cloud Computing in addressing business problems or demonstrating use cases in real life

SOCIAL

Usage of any medium (technology, photography, journalism etc..) to showcase a social issue and probable solutions

BUSINESS & ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Demonstrate skills (finance, sales, marketing, strategy) in addressing a real business problem or prepare the business case to start a new business

RESEARCH & PAPERS

Research Methodologies & Proposals not limited to Pharmaceuticals, Medicine, Business

ARTS

Performance or non-performance arts such as language, culinary, music

What all things should I know?

  • Submission is permitted per individual/ team and can participate in only ONE track

  • A team can have maximum of 2 members

  • There is no separate award for team or individual category; all submissions under a track will compete for the same prize

  • You (and all team members) should have completed at least 1 course from the Manipal-Coursera program in 2022 as on 30th March 2022. Submissions which do not meet this criteria will stand void

  • Plagiarism will disqualify you & your team from this and your & your team's access to the current & future Manipal-Coursera programs will be revoked and your respective university will be informed

  • You can find a guide for your project, if required. A guide can be a from your university or expert

  • You cannot submit Coursera assignments as your project

  • Prize will be credited directly to the bank account of individual or team leader subject to local laws

  • Prize amount will be divided equally between team members

  • Faculty and can be part of a team

  • Last date for registration is 20th Feb 2022

  • Last date to submit your project is 30th April 2022

What should I submit?

All submissions must contain a write up or a video explaining how the skill learned from the Manipal-Coursera program has been used.

Technology: Software or hardware solution

Social: Video or reports or photographs

Business & Entrepreneurship: Report on business case or impact created

Research & Papers: Video, write up, Posters, Presentations

Arts: Videos / Audios / writeups or food prepared

All submissions should be emailed to coursera@manipalglobal.com. If you are attaching videos / large files, please upload them into a cloud storage (ex: Google Drive) and share link via the same email


How will the project be judged?

The submissions will be evaluated considering

  • How effectively has the skill learned demonstrated?

  • Quality of the solution proposed to solve a problem or address an issue



NOTE
  • Inter-department teams will get extra marks (upto 5). For example, a team of engineers & medical students teaming up to build a heart monitor OR a team of hospitality students & management students running a food fair in campus

  • A faculty (from your university) as a guide will earn you 5 extra credits
