Hitlers Uranium Club (for the pdf, click here) (92 pages)
The first 92 pages of this rather long and extensive 2001 book by Jeremy Bernstein about Farm Hall, where the selected German scientists (including Heisenberg) were held directly after the war, and the secret recordings of their conversations. Of special interest are the Introduction (pp. 16-29 in the pdf) and the Prologue (pp. 31-86 in the pdf). This copy was retrieved from the internet, where someone had highlighted (in yellow) and commented on parts of the text.

Werner Heisenberg (for the pdf, click here). (41 pages)
Biographical Memoir of Heisenberg by Neville Mott and Rudolf Peierls for Royal Society Publishing. Detailed and even-handed, with background of both his physics and personal life. To quote the authors:
"He was a great physicist, whom science will remember with gratitude and respect. He was also an attractive personality, whom many who knew him will remember with affection. In this memoir we have tried to present him as a real person, including in our account also those parts of his life which have aroused controversy."
The Most Dangerous Possible German – The New Atlantis (for the pdf, click here) (38 pages)
The title should have been in quotes because it was what one physicist had said about Heisenberg and his potential to aid the German war effort. Certain judgments of Heisenberg in the article are somewhat harsh, but overall it's a good summary of his life.
