At both MCE and across the wider McMaster community, there are various supports, resources, and training opportunities available to you as a Continuing Education Instructor.
MCE’s in-house support is offered by way of the Web Content and Course Developer (WCCD). The WCCD is available to you for assistance, guidance, and training with Avenue to Learn, Zoom, and various other McMaster and external platforms.
You can reach out to the WCCD for help or to schedule one-on-one training and tutorials at the Course Development email: ccecrsdv@mcmaster.ca.
Within every Avenue to Learn term shell there is a module dedicated to instructor support called Instructor Guides. The Instructor Guides should be your go-to resource when seeking guidance and assistance for your course. The Instructor Guides module is organized into three distinct pages:
Before Your Course Begins
During Your Course
After Your Course Ends
The pages contain links to videos and print resources that offer step-by-step instructions for various Avenue to Learn tools and functions, the MCE Tracking Sheet System, and external tools such as Zoom. The Instructor Guides are also customized for each course, and contain instructions and resources for course-specific tools and processes.
The Continuing Education Instructor Toolkit offers the following guides and resources:
Virtual Classroom Guide
Instructor Handbook
Experiential Learning
External Training and Resources
