Where it All Began

Established in 2022. After a pandemic that made almost everbody re-assess their lives - I decided it was time to leave a teaching career and pursue something I loved which, which was working with dogs. In particular, I'd found a gap in the market that was needed for dogs who needed extra care and attention and weren't suited to big groups of dog outings. After a complicated journey of my own dog, Otis - I wanted better for dogs who are maybe deemed 'difficult', need time and patience and who are often misunderstood. Countryside Canines was brought to life and it has grown ever since. I am dedicated to the well-being of all of the dogs in my care and each are treated according to their individual needs.

Amelia

The owner of Countryside Canines and Otis, the cocker spaniel cross beagle (the real boss!). Having a previous background in care work and teaching - you can rest assured that both dogs and humans alike are treated with care and compassion. Like many people in the dog industry, I have grown up around many animals including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, gerbals, rabbits, fish and lizards and I love helping others with their pets' needs.

Sam

Meet Sam who joined us in 2025 to help with Maternity Leave cover and is still with us now. Sam and Amelia trained together for their Dog Grooming qualifications and have never looked back. Sam is the owner of Ted who you may see out with the gang - Sam has been brought up around farming and farm dogs and can often be seen handling sheep after her dog walks!
