About Ms. Leah

My name is Leah Switzer and this is my second year as a school counselor and my fourth year in education! I am so excited to be here and be able to be an advocate for students. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at NC State and I am working on my Master of Education at NC State as well. Go pack! 

I enjoy to spend time with my family and friends, reading, and baking. I also love to go to Oak Island or West Jefferson for vacation. Autumn is my favorite season, especially when I get to drink a pumpkin chai or go to a haunted house!

Working in education has really opened my eyes on the needs of children. I want to help children voice their needs and concerns, while also offering them a safe space to freely express themselves. I am passionate about helping students overcome barriers they may be facing. I am excited to connect with students and being a resource for them, no matter what!
