I am super excited to serve as the school counselor for ACE/ZOTZ. I have been in education for a total of 22 years. My first teaching job involved me teaching Algebra I& II, Geometry, and Math Models in a juvenile facility. After leaving that job I worked at North Shore Senior High as a special education teacher and department chair for 6 years. I next taught in Goose Creek as a special education math teacher for 3 years and at Channelview High School for 8 years.  I am starting my 4th year as a counselor and am glad to be back in Galena Park ISD. I love helping my students achieve their goals and overcome their problems.

Dear Parents and Students

Welcome to ACE! I am looking forward to working with both parents and students this school year! As your school counselor, I have planned different events throughout the year and hope you will participate.

As the school counselor, I take on many different roles within the school. My duties include guidance, small group, and individual counseling, as well as consultation with students, parents, teachers, and administrators. My goal is for each student to develop socially, emotionally, and academically, and I strive to create a safe and positive environment in which each child can accomplish this.

I work with students for a variety of reasons, including academic concerns, college/post-secondary planning, career preparation, personal struggles, mental health concerns, and peer issues. I also assist families in accessing different resources. As the counselor, I am dedicated to helping each child succeed in school and life.
