- We learned that our second graders needed explicit instruction in the PL process and how to handle the responsibility of choice and voice.
- From this we learned to gradually give them more voice and choice through project based learning.

- Students are given more choice in accessing the curriculum with a choice board.
- Students are required by Virginia Standards of Learning to know 10 famous Americans and their contribution to society. Once students can answer the question in this guide, they pick ANY famous American to research.
- Students can pick any way to show their work. They are expected to complete this checklist.
