This Privacy Policy describes how MerryGram (the "App") collects, uses, and discloses your information. The App is developed and operated by Cosmic Tools and Games ("we," "us," or "our").
By downloading, installing, or using MerryGram, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
A. Information You Provide Directly
The App does not require user registration, account creation, or login credentials. We do not collect or store personal identifying details such as your legal name, physical address, email address, or phone number to access the App’s features.
B. Photos, Camera, and On-Device Facial Analysis
To place holiday overlays, apply frames, and compose greeting cards, MerryGram requests access to your device camera and selected gallery photos:
On-Device Real-Time Face Detection: The App utilizes Google ML Kit Face Detection to detect facial landmarks (such as eyes, mouth, and head bounds) in real time to accurately position decorative stickers and filters.
No Biometric Identification: Face tracking is executed entirely on your local device hardware. The App does not create biometric facial templates, calculate unique facial geometry for identification purposes, or identify individual persons.
No Cloud Transmission: Camera frames, live previews, and imported images are processed strictly in local device memory. No image data or facial coordinate measurements are ever uploaded to our servers or transmitted to any third party.
C. Audio Recordings (Microphone)
If you choose to use the voice note feature in the Card Creator, the App requests permission to access your device microphone (RECORD_AUDIO):
Audio is recorded only when you explicitly press the record button in the voice recording sheet.
Recorded audio is saved exclusively to temporary local storage on your device and muxed directly into your exported video file.
Audio files are never uploaded, streamed, or transcribed by our servers.
D. Card Creations, Edits, and Media Gallery Storage
All cards, collages, edits, and cutouts you produce remain in private application storage on your device. When you choose to save or export a creation (as a PNG image or MP4 video), the media file is saved directly to your device's photo gallery via standard system APIs.
E. Information Collected Automatically by Third-Party Services
While Cosmic Tools and Games does not operate remote user databases, MerryGram integrates industry-standard third-party software development kits (SDKs) to serve advertisements, monitor app stability, and measure feature usage:
Google AdMob: Used to deliver mobile advertisements. Configured to request Non-Personalized Ads where applicable. AdMob may collect and process device identifiers (such as Android Advertising ID), general device technical information, coarse location data, and interaction metrics to serve ads and prevent ad fraud.
Google Firebase Crashlytics: Used to monitor application performance and crash stability. When an unexpected application error occurs, Crashlytics collects technical diagnostics, including stack traces, operating system versions, device models, and system resource states at the time of the crash.
Google Firebase Analytics & Remote Config: Collects anonymous aggregated metrics (such as screen transitions, pack downloads, and export formats) to help us understand feature adoption and configure seasonal app parameters remotely.
F. Local App Data and Preferences
MerryGram utilizes local storage mechanisms on your device (including Android SharedPreferences and local file directories) to preserve:
Active seasonal theme preferences and calendar countdown configurations.
Favorite stickers, frames, and downloaded event content packs.
App interface settings and language preferences (English and Spanish).
This configuration data resides solely on your physical device and is never synchronized to an external identity profile.
To keep the initial download size efficient, the App may download seasonal content packs (e.g., sticker graphics, frame templates, and festival wallpapers) from secure cloud storage (such as Firebase Storage or a static content delivery network). When downloading these static resource archives, your device's IP address and standard HTTP request headers are received by the hosting network as part of standard internet protocol communication.
MerryGram requests the following runtime permissions strictly to support active user actions:
Camera (android.permission.CAMERA): Required to provide live previews with real-time AR face stickers.
Microphone (android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO): Required only when you opt to attach a personalized spoken voice message to an animated greeting card.
Media / Storage Access: Used via the native Android System Photo Picker to let you select personal photos for editing without granting broad access to your entire storage volume.
Notifications (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used solely to deliver optional local holiday countdowns and seasonal pack availability alerts if enabled.
The limited data processed by the App is used exclusively to:
Operate the card editor, live camera tracking, and media export workflows on your device.
Maintain user preferences and saved card projects between application sessions.
Deliver advertisements via Google AdMob.
Identify, debug, and resolve crashes or technical bottlenecks via Firebase Crashlytics.
Evaluate high-level aggregate usage patterns via Firebase Analytics.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal photos, audio recordings, or usage data to third-party data brokers.
Third-party service providers utilized by MerryGram operate under their respective privacy policies:
Google Play Services, AdMob, and Firebase: https://policies.google.com/privacy
MerryGram is designed as a general-audience creative utility and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. Because all camera inputs, photos, and voice notes remain strictly on your physical device and are never transmitted to our servers, no child data is harvested. If you believe that any personal data has been transmitted unintentionally, please contact us immediately.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect application enhancements, new feature additions, or regulatory updates. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of MerryGram following any modifications indicates your acceptance of the revised policy.
