GENERAL INFORMATION

The meeting will take place in the Palazzone di Cortona in Cortona, Italy.

IMPORTANT for the people staying at Palazzone and arriving on Sunday July 6: please, plan your arrival between 14:00 – 20:00. If you plan to arrive after 20:00 please contact the organizers in advance.

Lunch: daily complete lunch is served at the Palazzone from Monday to Thursday. Our funding allows us to offer the lunch for each participant. Please contact the organizers to make lunch arrangements for accompanying persons.

HOW TO GET TO CORTONA

Bus. From the Cortona-Camucia train station to the town of Cortona, there are two main bus options:

Sunday: Buses depart at 08:46, 17:48, and 19:11 from the train station.

Line SU5: Goes to Piazza Garibaldi (Cortona), Timetable: https://www.ugr.es/~imns2010/2018/nuova-linea.pdf

Sunday: First bus at 07:45, then every hour (08:45, 09:45, ..., until 00:45).

Important Notes on Taxis and Car Rental with Driver

Due to new traffic regulations in Cortona, reaching the town by taxi or private car hire can be challenging. You may have to wait before having a vehicle available

Taxi.
Taxis must be booked by phone: +39 0575 087542. Advance reservation are unfortunately not accepted. Further, it is rare to find an available taxi when you arrive at the train station, you have to wait.

Car Rental with Driver (NCC – Noleggio Con Conducente)

This service is permitted by the new regulations only if taxis are unavailable, and there must be at least 30 minutes between trips of each driver.

Car.

If you arrive by car, both from the North and from the South, take the Valdichiana exit from the A1 highway, which is called Autostrada del Sole. Right after the toll gate exit take the E45 freeway (slip road from Siena to Perugia) in the direction to Perugia and then take the second exit for Cortona (Cortona San Lorenzo). You will just need to follow the street signs to arrive to the SS71 road in Camucia and to continue to Cortona.

Plane/train.
1. Fly to Florence and then take a train from Florence to Camucia-Cortona (the train takes approximately 1.30h).
2. Fly to Perugia and then take a train from Perugia to Camucia-Cortona (the train takes approximately 45min).
3. Fly to Rome and then take a train from Rome to Camucia-Cortona (the train takes approximately 2h).
