The main city where the story takes place. Its a relatively small city with around 7,000 people.
It's kind of a craphole, and is very sticky with tradition. It's glory days have since passed (say, 30 years ago) and now its becoming a bit run down.
It's more or less known for it's very beautiful lakes/rivers, hence it's name.
Around 5000 years ago, there was a titan that roamed the land. It reeked havoc on anything that got in it's way, and it was near impossible to reason with.
It went about the land, sometimes yelling things in words nobody understands.
One day, the people who were living there had enough, and they declared war on it. It took ten years, but they managed to take it's arms and seal it away in the place that would later become Vibrant Lakes.
Over the eons, it managed to learn the language of the people, although not very well. And it planned it's escape.
There's a curse that exists in many families, and has been passed through many generations. Its effects can vary, but its mostly a person's third eye opening, and them going crazy. The only way to halt its movement is to stop the person from having children.
Not even scientists can figure out exactly what it does and why it exists. A lot of people say it came from the titan, but others also say the titan is a just a myth.
The curse is actually a result of the Titan's last attack at the end of the ancient war. The purpose of it was to spread it like a virus to drive people insane and make them free the Titan, though that didn't really end up working that well. Instead, it only causes the first effect. Seeing as it's 5000 years old, the original folklore degraded into it mostly being believed to be a myth used to scare people.
A lot of its history has been lost to time because people wanted to hide the truth "for the sake of the children". This is the sole reason for it's lack of evidence.
