Regular Day Schedule
2:00 – 3:00 pm (Kindergarten only)
2-2:30 pm Story time, arts & crafts, free play in Ext. Care room
2:30-2:50 pm Recess on play structure
2:50-3 pm Snack provided, free play in Ext. Care room, gym games
3:00 – 3:15 pm Grades 1-8 signed-in, snack provided
3:15 – 3:30 pm Gym games, arts & crafts, computers available for homework
3:30 – 3:35 pm Announcements, yard swept
3:35 – 4:15 pm Arts & crafts, free play in Ext. Care room, outdoor games and play on blacktop, quiet homework on stage and back table (see note on homework policy below)
4:15 – 5:15 pm Arts & crafts, free play in Ext. Care room, outdoor games and play on blacktop, quiet homework on stage and back table, 15 minutes of computer play
5:15 pm 2nd snack provided
5:15 – 6 pm “Down-time”, free play in Ext. Care room, story time, cards and board games, 15 minutes of computer play, etc.
6 pm Extended Care closes

2:30 pm Large snack provided
2:45 – 4 pm Movie in Ext. Care room (see note on movie policy below), arts & crafts in the gym, gym games, etc.
4:00 – 5 pm Movie continues, arts & crafts in the gym, outdoor games and play on blacktop, 15 minutes of computer play, quiet homework on stage and back table (see note on homework policy below)
5:00 pm 2nd snack provided
5:00 – 6 pm “Down-time”, free play in Ext. Care room, story time, cards and board games, 15 minutes of computer play, etc.
6 pm Extended Care closes
*HOMEWORK POLICY: Homework time available from 3-4:00pm, however it is the child's responsibility to complete their assignments. Please be sure to speak with your child if you wish that he/she complete their homework while at Ext Care-- we will not argue with children to complete their assignments. One desktop computer is available for older grades that need it only for homework purposes on a first come, first serve basis.
Please note that we are available for the occasional question but students that choose to do their homework should be capable of doing the majority of the work on their own as we are not a replacement for a tutoring service and are not available for one-on-one homework help. Kindergarten and 1st grade teachers strongly prefer/require that parents do the homework with their child each day.
If your child normally works with a tutor, it will be most beneficial to your child if he/she does not do homework while at Extended Care since we cannot provide the extra attention which is vital to the child's academic (and emotional) growth.
Parents should still review their homework with their children as they would normally.
We strongly believe academic support in after-school but at this time we are not available to provide anything further. We appreciate your understanding.
*MOVIES: Although we try not to show movies that are rated PG, please be sure to sign a Movie Permission Form at the beginning of the year. Courtesy Emails are also emailed out prior to each minimum day to give as much advance notice on the title of the movie as possible. If you prefer that your child not watch the movie we have selected, please notify the Director and there will be an alternate activity provided for your child.
