fonaCAB APP Setup

The fonaCAB APP has been updated. We've made this change to provide extra functionality both now and into the future and to comply with upcoming changes to the law around card payments. To do this, we have changed our APP provider and this means that while your account with fonaCAB (if you already had one) remains intact with all of your booking history and details, we will need you to register on the new APP.

This page has been set up to help you do that and give you a basic guide to some of the features. Getting Started - Setting up the APP

1) If your fonaCAB APP does not update automatically, you can download it from your APP Store - just search for fonaCAB

2) After downloading, installing and opening the APP you will see the fonaCAB welcome message

3) To register, enter your mobile number removing the first zero. You will then receive a 6 digit code by text message to this number

4) Enter this 6 digit code followed by your name and email address and this will complete your registration.

You will be asked about your default payment option - selecting "Cash" allows for the quickest registration and you can add cards or accounts at any time after you're registered if you wish.

Changes to the law have meant that the way we accept card payments has changed - you may wish to use our new in car contactless card terminals instead.

You will now be brought to the main booking page.


Placing a Booking - You can now add your Destination

1) Your pickup point can be determined by either the GPS from your phone or it can be manually entered. Once you have selected your pickup address you can then select your destination

2) For the best experience we advise setting up some saved locations


3) When you have selected your destination, you will see a rough fare estimate for the journey and will be able to select what vehicle type you need, how you want to pay and when you would like the taxi for. Remember that in car contactless payments are available.

4) If unable to find a business or commercial address on the app you can add the business name to the notes for the driver which may help them find the location more easily.



5) You can order a taxi for now, or pre order it for later. If your booking is for straight away when you press “Confirm Booking” we will begin to look for a driver for your journey.


6) Once a driver has been assigned you will receive notification showing the registration and make and model of the vehicle which has been sent. The map will update to show the location of your driver and the estimated time of arrival.


Cancelling a Booking

1) Should you need to cancel a booking you can do so from the either the main screen where the booking is active or from your profile menu.

2) You can access your profile menu by tapping the round person icon on the home screen. Once you click on the profile menu you will see a Bookings option

3) from here you can view any Active, Upcoming or Past bookings and can make changes to active or upcoming bookings as required.

4) When you have found the Booking you wish to cancel, press cancel and you will be asked to confirm the cancellation. When completed you will receive a notification to confirm the cancellation.

Setting up your Favourite Places

1) Setting up favourite places makes choosing your pick up points and destinations easier - just click on the address instead of typing it in

2) You can set up your favourite places in your profile under the "settings" link

3) From here you can add Home, Work and Favourite places along with any required / personal booking notes for your driver for example, if your address has more than one entrance, which door to meet at

4) Once you have added your favourite place information and notes, click save and you will return to the menu

Updating Your Payment Methods

1) If you wish to change your payment method at the time of booking just select the drop down arrow beside the currently selected payment method

2) This will open a floating menu with all your saved payment methods – Card, Native Pay, Account and Cash. Just select which you want to use.

3) You can now see that your payment method has been updated.

4) After confirming your booking you will see a summary of your booking including vehicle type requested and payment method
