Booking Your fonaCAB

Did you know, there are a few simple things that you can do to help us to help you, and to make it easier when booking a taxi?

  • We understand that plans can change and you may no longer need your taxi. If that happens, no problem – all we ask is that you cancel your booking request as soon as possible, whether on the APP or by calling us, so that the driver doesn’t have a wasted journey and can instead be collecting another customer

  • Please do not request more than one taxi at a time, whether from fonaCAB or from various different taxi companies. You might think that by requesting say three taxis you are increasing your chances, but all you are doing is stopping two other customers from doing the same and potentially leaving two drivers with “no shows”

  • If you’re requesting a booking from a public location, be conscious of pedestrian areas, one way streets and no entry areas that may make it difficult or slower for the driver to get to you

  • Keep an eye on the notifications we send you – these can be sent to your APP or delivered by text message or WhatsApp and will update you on your taxis journey to you as well as details of the car so that you can identify it when it arrives. Please note that your request for booking is not confirmed until you receive a notification from us

  • Watch out for your taxi and be there when it arrives. Drivers will wait only a short amount of time if you are not there before moving onto their next booking

  • If you’re requesting a booking a taxi to take you to the airport, train station or bus stop – or anywhere where you absolutely positively have to be there for a certain time – make sure you leave plenty of time for your journey and a little more on top to account for any delays such as traffic.

  • If you have specific requirements like transporting a pet or carrying large bulky items, please tell us when you’re requesting a booking so we can dispatch the right vehicle to you first time.

  • You can tell us when you call, or by using the notes on your APP, any specific information that might help locate you – for example, “House with red door” or “Will be waiting at front of….”

Don’t forget that the “other customers” that might not be able to book, or that the drivers could be collecting, could be you! These simple steps will help you and other customers get a taxi by making the system work more efficiently and by reducing the number of delays or no shows that Drivers can experience.

When we are especially busy, our system prioritises booking requests for our best customers – those who are regular and reliable will receive a higher priority than those who aren’t.

To keep your priority status as high as possible, all we ask is that you’re there for the taxi that you booked and that if you don’t need it, you cancel as soon as possible and let us know – as the meerkat in the TV ad says, Simples!
