Coronado PTA - We Cultivate Community!
Welcome to the Committee Volunteer Page!
Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of our students and the future of our community?
Committee is a scary word to some - but having several people working together and splitting up the work makes it a lot of fun, manageable, and sparks creativity.
Many of our activities can be done from home and online!
Think about helping in one or more of these areas! It really, truly, does not take a lot of time. And you won't be alone!

PTA has elected officers and a great community of volunteers...so when you lead or help on a committee you become part of a team committed to making Coronado a great place to be!
The following committees are in need of leadership:
Cougars Closet (clothing exchange) (two times per year)
Website Maintenance (monthly)
Hospitality (Arranging for food at events--separate from Teacher Appreciation)
Ways and Means (One day of concessions in May at the Track Classic Meet)
King Soopers rewards (Encourage and help parents link their Rewards card to our PTA)
Hearing Screening (spring--coordinate volunteers to help D11 medical staff with Hearing screening)
Teacher Grant Program - new program to provide teachers with funding based on approval from PTA.
These teams always welcome help. Consider helping with:
After Prom (spring)
Staff Appreciation (Five times per year)
Membership (Aug & Jan, collect and register membership forms)
Reflections Program (fall)
There are many other ways to contribute!

Here is a description of the activities and events that we do:

Volunteers - This Chair enters volunteers and hours logged into the D-11 system, and helps write volunteer request emails that are sent through the Vice Principal as needed for events throughout the year.
Staff Appreciation - These Co-Chairs coordinate staff appreciation events during the year (Back-to-School Welcome, Grab-n-Go Breakfast during conferences, December Special, Valentines Lunch and May Teacher Appreciation week.
Hospitality - Coordinates snacks for school events (e.g. Academic Letter reception, Homecoming, Health Screening, and 8th Grade/New Student Open House).
After Prom - This committee is dedicated to providing a fun and safe after-prom event. Memebrs plan this event, seek donations and coordinate fundraising to help cover the costs incurred (facility rental, prizes, lifeguards, food, etc.).
Cougars Closet Clothing Exchange - This Chair coordinates with student groups to host the Fall and/or Springs Clothing Exchange. Seeks donations of clothing and other items, requests tables, helps students set up, gathers volunteers and arranges to donate extra clothing to other organizations.
Reflections - Presents Reflections theme and details to fauculty, collect submissions, seeks judges, makes certificates for the students who entered, gathers prizes and sends thank you notes to the judges.
Health and Safety - Works with nurse to arrange dates for Vision and Hearing screening, coordinates with Hospitality to provide refreshments, and seeks volunteers to assist with screening.
King Soopers Rewards - Helps advertise King Soopers Community Rewards program throughout the year. May also help during membership drives.
