In order to promote aspirations of higher education, provide funding for tuition, and support achievement in higher education for the Coronado Learning Community:
Scottsdale Unified School District commits to supporting all K-12 students in:
Overcoming social-emotional challenges.
Accelerating academic outcomes.
Appreciating the value of a higher education and the various options.
Understanding career and college opportunities.
Coronado High School commits to supporting all students and families in:
Overcoming barriers to academic success.
Becoming prepared for college and career.
Researching or visiting various higher educational institutions.
Applying for higher education admission and financial aid opportunities.
Scottsdale Community College commits to:
Supporting recruitment efforts of CHS students to SCC and assisting CHS students in gaining admission to SCC.
Supporting students in transitioning from CHS to SCC.
Providing various ways for CHS graduates at SCC to understand the services and resources needed to prepare for college completion, including financial aid and scholarship opportunities, and the requirements for transferring to a four-year university as desired.
The City of Scottsdale commits to:
Raising visibility and excitement of the Coronado Promise Program.
Assisting families in obtaining basic needs (food, healthcare, clothing, housing) through the help of various community partners.
Fostering partnerships and opportunities for Coronado students to engage in local government and community activities
Coronado Foundation for the Future commits to:
Managing Promise Scholarship components (applications, selection process, coordinating with CHS and SCC)
Establishing relationships with Promise Scholarship recipients.
Supporting Promise Scholarship recipients in their transition to higher education and successful completion of their degree or certificate.
Scottsdale Charros commits to:
Utilizing organizational expertise to oversee the fidelity of the program funds and report outcomes to donors.
Administering capital distribution and contributions.
Raising and managing funds to support Coronado Promise Scholarship and the Pathway to Coronado Promise Program.
Raising visibility and excitement of improvements in Coronado Learning Community.
Community Members
Flick Foundation has committed $50K in scholarship assistance each year and will additionally match $50K in donations raised by the community.
Coronado Learning Community Parents commit to:
Advocating for their child when they are struggling and helping their child with organization.
Supporting their child’s higher education choice and saving money for their child's education.
Coronado Learning Community Students commit to:
Persevering when faced with challenges.
Advocating for oneself when struggling and taking advantage of extra help and support.
Learning about various college and career opportunities and appreciate learning opportunities.
Applying for the Coronado Promise Scholarship during senior year.
Coronado Promise Partners commit to working together to deliver this promise to the students and families of the Coronado Learning Community in the Scottsdale Unified School District.
