Dear parents and carers,
Well done everyone for persevering through some of the hottest days on record at the tail end of term 6. We do our best with water stations, fans, relaxed dress codes, but the building still retains heat and makes some teaching spaces uncomfortable. We are grateful to staff and students for their endurance.
We are delighted to publicly celebrate the successes of our students this year, who’ve been rewarded with housepoints, prizes, non-uniform days and vouchers. Some high-flying members of the Cornwallis community have even been recognised nationally and internationally for their dance and sporting achievements. There has been an exciting overhaul of the Cornwallis ‘rewards’ structure ready to be launched next year, with a variety of opportunities soon to be available to worthy recipients. Keep a close eye on House competitions moving forwards, and a reminder to all students to collect as many housepoints as possible from September.
It is the right time to thank the organisers of Enrichment Week and the individual trip leaders. It is no small operation to plan, book and coordinate activities successfully, on this scale. Furthermore, there have been more than 50 trips or visits this year ably overseen by Mr Clapp, our Educational Visits Co-ordinator. Some key highlights included the Bay of Naples, Disneyland and the World Challenge to Norway. Huge thanks to organisers and facilitators, as well as the students who did a fantastic job of representing our school in the broader national, and international community.
The year culminated with another highly successful Sports Day, expertly organised and managed by our Heads of House. A close-run battle saw Hanson House declared winner. Congratulations to their Head of House Mr Lewis and all the participants.
On an academic note, we look forward to celebrating students’ A level and GCSE successes this summer too, with GCSE results published on Thursday 20th August, and A level results on Thursday 13th August. Staff will be available to discuss UCAS arrangements with year 13 if necessary, while all year 11 students must see a member of the Senior Leadership Team after collecting their results, so you can either be enrolled into sixth form or a record taken of your destination if you are not planning to remain at Future Schools Trust Sixth Form.
Finally, we wish you all a restful and enjoyable summer spent with friends and family. We look forward to welcoming you back in September.

GCE Results
The GCE results will be released on Thursday 13th August 2026. Students will have their Statement of Results emailed to them in the morning, please make sure that the school have your correct email address on file. Should the student have any queries or concerns regarding results and university placements they are welcome to come in and see the team, a hard copy of the statement of results will be available to collect between 9.30am and 11am on the same day from the Heart Space, access will be through the main entrance. Statements of results are released to students personally, so please bring some ID with you. If students are unable to collect them personally, they may send a representative with a named authorised letter giving their permission for that person to collect it on their behalf. ID for the representative will need to be shown. If you are a year 12 student, we will have a hardcopy of your statement of results held in the exams office for you to collect at the start of the new academic year.
GCSE Results
We wish to inform you that the GCSE statement of results will be released on Thursday 20th August 2026. Students will be able to collect their results between 9.30am and 11.30am from the Heart Space. statements of results are released to students personally so please bring some ID with you. Swanage Trip
Swanage Trip
From Friday 10th to Monday 13th July, 38 students from Cornwallis Academy, accompanied by four members of staff, enjoyed an action-packed residential weekend in the stunning surroundings of Swanage, Dorset.
Working alongside the fantastic instructors at Cumulus Outdoor Adventure, students took part in a wide range of exciting activities including coasteering, paddle boarding, kayaking, high ropes, archery, and beach games. They also explored the beautiful Dorset coastline with visits to the iconic Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, as well as enjoying some free time discovering the shops and seaside atmosphere of Swanage town.
The weekend was about far more than just adventure. Throughout the four days, students demonstrated incredible teamwork, resilience, determination, and encouragement towards one another. Many embraced activities that pushed them well beyond their comfort zones, overcoming personal challenges with confidence and courage. It was wonderful to see new friendships formed and existing ones strengthened through teamwork and shared experiences.
The residential was filled with laughter, memorable moments and achievements that will stay with students for years to come. Every participant should be incredibly proud of the positive attitude and enthusiasm they showed throughout the weekend.

A huge thank you goes to the dedicated staff who gave up their weekend to support the trip and to the outstanding team at Cumulus Outdoor Adventure for delivering such a professional, safe and enjoyable programme of activities.
Most importantly, congratulations to all 38 students for representing Cornwallis Academy so brilliantly. Their behaviour, enthusiasm and willingness to embrace every challenge made the residential a tremendous success. We hope they returned home with fantastic memories, greater confidence, and friendships that will last long after the weekend ended.
World Challenge - Norway 2026
World Challenge - Norway 2026
A group of Year 11 and 12 students embarked on a life-changing adventure in the Norwegian mountains and fjords this month as part of a World Challenge expedition to Norway.
The expedition began with a demanding four-day trek through the mountains, culminating in the summit of Årdalsknapen, standing at 762 metres above sea level. The route rarely followed what most would recognise as footpaths; instead, students navigated rugged terrain, scrambling over rocks, crossing streams, and weaving between lakes while carrying everything they needed and wild camping each night. Completely self-sufficient, they demonstrated remarkable independence and teamwork throughout the trek.
The second phase of the expedition saw the group canoe their way down the fjord on a two-day journey back to base camp, spending a night wild camping on the secluded island of Storøyi. After returning to base camp, the students took part in a range of adventure activities, including stand-up paddleboarding, where they learnt the fundamentals before tackling rapids, followed by an exhilarating white-water rafting experience in the fjords.
Every student was exceptional throughout the expedition. Their resilience, perseverance, and determination in the face of physical and mental challenges made the experience truly memorable. They developed new skills, thrived in the wilderness, supported one another through every challenge, and created memories that will last a lifetime.

On Thursday 25th of June we welcomed our potential new sixth form students into school to try out the range of Level 3 courses we offer. Students met their future teachers and classmates as well as experiencing the benefits of Cafe Wallis. They also found out all about an exciting opportunity to participate in a World Challenge to Morocco! On the Friday those who braved the heat came bowling with us and enjoyed their time with new and old friends. We look forward to welcoming them to our Sixth Form community in September.

As ever, our enrichment days have been a huge success. We did change how it worked this year so that students could all do just one trip if they wished and then explore and participate in activities within their chosen field of interest. We had trips out to Alton Towers, the watersports centre in Lydd, an archaeological site at Shorne Woods, the Motorsports museum in Duxford, Chessington, fishing lakes and Lazer Tag as well as Harry Potter World and Bletchley Park. This programme for the students is all about cultural experiences and they truly immersed themselves in everything to offer! There was also plenty of exciting and interesting activities going on in school too with students able to build fairy gardens, make their own jewellery, create a sculpture, play warhammer and learn how to make spanish dishes to enjoy or they could join in with in house sports such as archery, badminton and rounders or football with MUFC.

Our annual Music Showcase took place this term, with talented pupils from Years 7 to 10
performing a diverse programme of music to a packed audience of family and friends. The evening
featured two energetic rock band performances, alongside a range of impressive solo acts
showcasing vocals, guitar, drums and other instruments.
The showcase concluded with a superb performance by our Year 10 BTEC Music pupils, who
performed a song featuring three-part vocal harmony, demonstrating the skills they have
developed throughout the course. It was wonderful to celebrate the breadth of musical talent
across the school and to see the confidence, commitment and hard work of every performer on
display.
Congratulations and well done to all the pupils who took part in such a fantastic evening.

A group of our Year 12 students who were nominated by their teachers enjoyed the day at Thorpe Park on Friday 3rd July as a reward for academic achievement and community spirit. The students braved the terrifying roller coasters and cooled off on the water rides; a fabulous day was had by all on a very warm and beautiful sunny day.
YEAR 12 CAREERS & ENRICHMENT DAY
In July, our Year 12 students took part in our annual Careers & Enrichment Day, a key event designed to help students explore future pathways and develop the essential life and career skills they will need as they prepare to enter Year 13.
The day featured a range of engaging workshops and guest speaker sessions, all aimed at helping students explore their options and prepare for their next steps after sixth form.
A highlight of the day was an inspiring talk from 'Miracle Man' Anthony Bennett, whose incredible story of resilience and determination has captivated audiences across the country. Students also took part in sessions focused on apprenticeships, choosing the right university and course, and a practical 'Money Matters' workshop covering budgeting, credit scores and spending habits.

Our Year 10 and 12 students have gone out into the world of work for the final weeks of the summer term. They are placed in a wide range of businesses and workplaces such as many local primary schools, hairdressers, hotels, vineyards, churches, cafes, car garages, gyms, accountants, charity shops, electricians, decorators, gardeners, vet clinics and golf clubs to list just a few! This is an amazing opportunity for them all and an invaluable opportunity to consider what they may want to do when they leave school. They learn how to engage and communicate with work colleagues and customers and see how businesses work form the inside. We do hope they have enjoyed their time and learnt a lot about themselves in the process.

Last week, our French and Spanish students watched a performance delivered by the International Theatre company, Onatti.
All students thoroughly enjoyed watching the production. The play was interactive, funny and involved the audience throughout.

Festival of Languages & Culture 2026
Students from Cornwallis Academy took part in the Festival of Languages and Culture at the University of Kent in June 2026. Students were able to learn about a range of different languages including Chinese Calligraphy and learn even more in French and Spanish. Many students really enjoyed preparing their own songs in Spanish and French for a Eurovision style song contest and could sing their own unique song if they chose to! During lunchtime students had the opportunity to try some French and Spanish food whilst a talented Samba band performed for students - a real treat!

Year 6 Transition Days
On Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd July, we proudly welcomed our new Year 7 cohort for their two-day induction experience. Over 215 students joined us, full of energy and excitement, ready to begin their journey into secondary school life.
Across the two days, students participated in a range of taster lessons across a variety of subjects. As always, lunchtime was a firm favourite, with students enjoying the opportunity to use the school canteen and receive a free meal. They also completed an orienteering activity, helping them to explore the school site and gain confidence in navigating their new surroundings.
Each student spent valuable time with their form, beginning to build new relationships with both their tutor and their peers. Form tutors are the first point of contact for our students and play a vital role in helping them settle and thrive at Cornwallis.
In addition, students had the opportunity to meet Miss Hodges, Co-Head of School, Mrs Herlihy, Deputy Headteacher, and Mr Jones, Head of Year, during a formal assembly. They also began forming new friendships, with many students exchanging phone numbers and leaving site eager to tell their parents about the new friends they had made.
We were incredibly impressed with their behaviour, enthusiasm and eagerness to get involved, as we have been throughout the entire transition process. It was particularly lovely to see students engaging in science experiments and throwing themselves into life at Cornwallis.
Our new Year 10 prefects were also on hand to support students throughout the two days. They were an absolute credit to the school, helping in classrooms, guiding students through routines, and offering a friendly face at break and lunchtime.
Everyone left with the Cornwallis smile and a real sense of excitement for the year ahead. We can't wait to welcome them back in September

In June, Scarlett L in year 9 attended The Art Bytes Celebration Event.
Along with her family Scarlett took a tour of the National Gallery before visiting the Exhibition of all the Art Bytes school finalists held at St Martin In The Fields.
This marked the culmination of a year long journey for our year 9 artists, submitting work, exhibiting in the virtual gallery and the voting by the Cornwallis Community.
Vernon the Vermin was a charming addition to the display and a sculpture that everybody engages with.

Over 100 visitors passed through the Art Department doors and viewed over 200 outstanding pieces of work. From year 13 to year 7, students displayed Sculpture, Painting and Photography produced over the past year.
It is always sad to say goodbye to our exam groups, we wish you every success. Thank you parents for your support. Our Scholars, we congratulate you as you embark on your artistic journey at Cornwallis and feel confident you have been inspired by what you see our older students producing.

Our avid readers enjoyed a well-deserved reward trip to Maidstone Library and Waterstones on Monday, 29th June. Their hard work and love of reading were recognised with the opportunity to choose a book of their own to keep, followed by a delicious slice of cake.
A huge thank you to our librarian for organising this wonderful reward trip and inspiring our children to continue developing a love of reading.

Year 12 explore their post-18 options
At the beginning of June, all Year 12 students visited the UK University & Apprenticeship Search Fair at the University of Kent in Canterbury as part of our careers programme.
The day began with an informative session delivered by the University of Kent, giving students an insight into university life, guidance on choosing universities and courses, and advice to help them consider whether university is the right pathway for them.
Students then explored the exhibition, where they met representatives from universities and apprenticeship providers from across the UK. They also had the opportunity to attend campus tours and seminars covering a range of important topics, including UCAS applications, personal statements, higher and degree apprenticeships, and student finance.
The visit gave students valuable first-hand information about the wide range of post-18 opportunities available and encouraged them to start thinking about the pathways that best suit their interests, ambitions and future career goals. It was an engaging and informative day, and students represented the school exceptionally well throughout the visit.

Our annual Sports Day was a fantastic celebration of teamwork, determination and house spirit, with students from every year group embracing the opportunity to compete, challenge themselves and support one another.
Throughout the day, students took part in a wide range of traditional track events, showcasing impressive speed, endurance and resilience. Alongside the athletics, students represented their houses in football, netball, table tennis and an energetic HIIT challenge, earning valuable house points through both individual performances and teamwork.
Adding to the excitement were a variety of inflatable challenges, including sumo wrestling, the duel, an assault course and the ever-popular Hungry Hippos game. These activities created plenty of laughter, encouraged participation from all abilities and highlighted the importance of perseverance, sportsmanship and having fun together.
The atmosphere throughout the day was exceptional. Students cheered each other on, celebrated one another's achievements, and demonstrated respect in both victory and defeat. Staff also played a huge role in making the day such a success by officiating events, encouraging participants and helping to create a positive and memorable experience for everyone involved.
After an incredibly close competition, we are delighted to announce that Hanson House were crowned our Sports Day Champions. Their outstanding commitment, teamwork and determination across every event secured them the overall victory. Congratulations to all members of Hanson House on a fantastic achievement.
A huge thank you goes to all staff, student leaders and volunteers who helped organise and run the day. Their hard work ensured everything ran smoothly and provided our students with an unforgettable experience.
Well done to every student who took part. Whether competing, supporting teammates or simply stepping outside of their comfort zone, everyone contributed to making Sports Day 2026 a tremendous success. We are already looking forward to next year's event!

A Level Geography Visit To London
Year 12 Geographers travelled to London to visit case study locations and to try out some fieldwork techniques. We visited Hays Galleria, Canary Wharf, Brick Lane and Spitalfields - considering what makes a 'place' and how regeneration changes places.

Year 10 GCSE Human fieldwork -Mr Cracknell, Mr Mortimer, Ms Ford and Ms Judd
The first geography trip saw us visit Coxheath to examine the very common human issue being seen in urban areas-new housing developments. The plan was to identify whether the new housing estate in Coxheath was going to have any positive impacts. Before we went out, we had studied urban issues, including housing and knew that there can be mixed results for locals, services and utilities.
We split the cohort into two groups of approximately 40 and 50 and did the trips over two days to keep it manageable and with routes that are not designed for large groups, it was deemed best. After a walk into Coxheath past the new Clockhouse farm development with perfect fieldwork weather, our students conducted a variety of data collection methods, such as environmental quality surveys and vehicle counts. The data collected in both days out has already begun to be collated and the methods used to present it are invaluable to our student’s efforts in the GCSE Geography course.
Year 10 GCSE Physical fieldwork-Herne Bay beach-Mr Cracknell, Mr Mortimer, Ms Ford, Mrs Andrews, Ms Judd and Mrs Eloff
Students are required to conduct a study of an element of physical geography, so we organised a trip to Herne Bay. To keep it manageable, we split the cohort into two groups of 42 and 53 and conducted it over two days. Both days had fantastic weather and naturally we had to share the beach with sunbathers and other schools. To the school’s and the student’s enormous credit, our students performed brilliantly, often engaging the public when asked what they were doing.
Students were required to collect data that we will later use to see if natural processes are being interrupted by man-made sea defences. The data needed to be of good quality so that it can be drawn up later and presented and they did not disappoint. Lots of hard work was done and lot of happy, if tired year 10 students returned on both days with a good idea of how content taught in the classroom could be applied in the field.

On Friday 19th June, we were delighted to celebrate with our Year 11 students at their unforgettable Hollywood Red Carpet-themed Prom. Making a spectacular entrance in an array of impressive vehicles, students walked the red carpet looking absolutely fantastic in their elegant suits and beautiful dresses, marking the end of an important chapter in their school journey.
It was wonderful to see so many of the year group sharing this special occasion together. The evening was filled with laughter and celebration as students enjoyed a delicious buffet, captured memories in the photo booth, visited the sweet cart and danced the night away with music from the DJ. A series of light-hearted awards added to the fun and recognised some of the unique personalities and contributions that have made this year group so special.
The prom was a fitting celebration of five years' worth of hard work, resilience, friendships and achievements. It was a pleasure to see our students enjoying themselves and creating memories that will stay with them for years to come.
As they await their GCSE results, we wish every one of our Year 11 students the very best for the future. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and look forward to welcoming many of them back to our Sixth Form in September to begin the next exciting stage of their education.

On Friday the 22nd of May the Year 13 students celebrated the end of their school journey with us at their prom. This was held at Bearsted Golf Club and was a fabulous night full of lovely food and a lot of dancing! Students were impeccably behaved and a lot of fun was had, it was a perfect summery evening to celebrate their resilience and hard work through their exam season. We wish them the best of luck for their next steps and a wonderful summer.

Dear Parents and Carers,
First of all, I'd like to congratulate all of our amazing award winners, who are listed above. These awards are testament to how hard the students have worked throughout Year 7, and their strength and resilience.
It's been a pleasure to see how the Year 7 students have grown in character and maturity during the school year. They quickly grew accustomed to a bigger school, a more varied timetable with multiple teachers, assessments and end of term / year examinations. They have acclimatised fantastically to secondary school and Miss Perry and I look forward to seeing them develop further in Year 8.
The Year 7s enjoyed a wonderful Sports Day on Monday, where the students enjoyed a range of activities, including inflatables, old style sports day events and relay races in the afternoon, as well as burgers and ice cream.
They then enjoyed Enrichment Week, including a range of sports including football, outdoor activities like canoeing, trips to Chessington World of Adventures and Alton Towers, and a selection of arts and crafts, including bracelet making.
We would like to wish all our students a happy Summer holiday with their family and friends, and we look forward to welcoming them back to Cornwallis on Friday September 4th.

Term 1
Jeans for Genes Non-Uniform Day
We were thrilled to see the enthusiasm for our Jeans for Genes non-uniform day. Thanks to your support and generosity, we raised a fantastic total for this important charity. The contributions made a meaningful difference to children living with genetic disorders, and we were proud of our students’ commitment to giving back to the wider community.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
Our Macmillan coffee morning was another outstanding success. Thank you to all parents, carers, and staff who contributed with baking, donations and time. The event raised a fantastic total for Macmillan Cancer Support, and the atmosphere of community and generosity was truly heartwarming.
Student Voice Representatives
We were pleased to announce that our Student Voice representatives had been selected. Congratulations went to: Caelan C G Lyon F, Theo W, Dylan K, Lacey M B, Francesca C, James P and Max S. These students represented their peers this year. Their contributions have helped shape the future of our school community and ensure that student perspectives remain central to decision-making.

Children in Need – Non-School Uniform Day
Year 8 showed fantastic enthusiasm and generosity during our Children in Need non-school-uniform day. Students embraced the chance to express themselves while raising funds for an important national cause that supports children and young people across the UK. Thank you to all the families who contributed, your donations made a meaningful difference.
Year 8 Poet Visit – Theresa Lola
We were delighted to welcome poet Theresa Lola into school for a workshop with Year 8. Theresa, known for her powerful and imaginative writing, inspired students to explore their own creativity through poetry. Students listened to live readings of her work and learnt about how poetry can be used to express identity, emotion and personal experience. It was a memorable visit that sparked some brilliant discussions and impressive pieces of writing from our students.
Term 3
Year 8 Sporting Events – Football, Netball and Basketball
This term, our Year 8s experienced a variety of sporting events, which gave them the opportunity to showcase their talents alongside their teamwork skills. They did brilliantly and represented our year group with outstanding success. It is these types of occasions that make Miss Edwards and I proud. A special ‘Well Done’ went to our Year 8 Basketball Team who had never trained or played before.

Well done to Will B, who after representing Cornwallis Academy in the Maidstone Schools’ Cross Country Championships, was then selected to represent Maidstone District in the Kent event too – a great achievement.
Also, a huge Well done went to our Cornwallis Academy swimming team, who participated in the Kent Schools’ Swimming Championship in Margate. There were some noticeable performances across our team but a massive shout out to our Year 8 Superstar – Cadence W for representing our Year Group incredibly well.
Term 4
Be FAB Day! – Fantastic Attitude and Behaviour
What a great way to end Term 4 with our first ever individual year group reward day – Be FAB Day!
The idea behind this celebration was that as we have so many fantastic and amazing students in our year group, who consistently show every day that they uphold the SMILE values, we found it really difficult to select 2 students each week for our Students of the Week. Therefore, we wanted to praise as many of our FAB students as we possibly could. They certainly proved us right as we had over 140 students (75%) of our year group awarded FAB status. This meant they were allowed to wear their own clothes for the day and got the afternoon off schoolwork and instead, had a cinema experience in our lecture theatre.
Year 8 University of Kent Trip
On Tuesday 10th March 2026, 35 of our Year 8s visited the University of Kent to experience ‘Uni Life’. We teamed up with the University’s student ambassadors for the day as they talked us through their experiences and gave us a tour of the campus. Students had to work in teams on designing what they thought would be the best student accommodation. It was a great test of their imagination, creativity, teamwork, and communication skills.
The lead lecturer and ambassadors were really impressed with how the year 8s represented Cornwallis Academy and by the innovative designs and models they made. Their behaviour and representation of our school and community was exemplary throughout.
Term 5
Be FAB Day 2! – Fantastic Attitude and Behaviour
Again, what a great way to end the term with our 2nd year group reward day – Be FAB Day 2!
Once again, they proved us right as we had 159 students (83%) of our year group awarded FAB status, which was an improvement of nearly 30 students (18%).
Year 8 Clockhouse Farm
On Monday 18th May 2026, some of our Year 8s visited the Clockhouse Farm in Yalding to learn more about where our food comes from. They enjoyed a tour of the farm including the water heating centre and the greenhouses. Behaviour was exemplary and our students posed some good questions to our guide. They also got to enjoy some freshly picked blackberries!

Year 8 Final Thoughts
In preparation for our return on Friday 4th September 2026, please could we ask for your support in ensuring that your child is dressed in full, correct uniform, is fully equipped, does not have false eyelashes and nails and is only wearing the allowed items of jewellery. This would ensure that they get off to the best possible start.

Dear Parents and Carers,
As we reach the end of another academic year, it is hard to believe how quickly the time has passed. Looking back over the last ten months, I can honestly say that Year 9 have had an incredibly successful year. They have grown in confidence, maturity and resilience, and it has been a privilege to watch them develop into the young adults they are becoming.
As we prepare to say goodbye to Year 9 and welcome them into Year 10, I am reminded of just how far they have come. The students who started this year are not the same students who are finishing it. They have embraced opportunities, overcome challenges, supported one another and demonstrated a growing sense of responsibility. Most importantly, they are now ready to begin the next stage of their education as they start their GCSE studies in September.
This year has been filled with opportunities and achievements. Students have represented the Academy in sporting fixtures, performing arts productions, educational visits, charity events, competitions and enrichment activities. They have participated in charitable initiatives including Macmillan, Comic Relief, Jeans for Genes and Mind, whilst also contributing through Student Council and leadership opportunities. Students have consistently demonstrated the Cornwallis SMILE values and have made the year team incredibly proud.
A significant milestone this year was the GCSE options process. Students approached this maturely and thoughtfully and have now secured the subjects that will form the basis of their GCSE studies. They also completed their end-of-year examinations with determination and focus, showing that they are ready for the challenges of Key Stage 4.
This final term has been especially busy. Many students took part in the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh preparation day, developing valuable expedition skills ahead of their assessed expedition. Unfortunately, due to the exceptionally high temperatures, the expedition itself has had to be postponed until the start of Year 10. Whilst disappointing, student safety must always come first and we look forward to completing this challenge in September.
The recent hot weather has undoubtedly made learning more difficult at times. Despite this, year 9 have remained positive, sensible and focused. Their behaviour, resilience and attitude throughout the hotter days has been excellent and demonstrates just how much they have matured throughout the year.
Selected students were rewarded for their commitment in literacy lessons with a bowling reward trip, it was thoroughly enjoyed by all involved. All year 9 students also attended an assembly about the opportunity of the Morocco World Challenge Expedition, inspiring them to consider future opportunities and adventures.
The creative talents of the year group have continued to shine. Many students recently participated in the Performing Arts Showcase, performing in front of students, staff, parents and carers. We have also celebrated success in the National Art Bytes competition, with students recognised for the high quality of their work.
Students have continued to represent the Academy brilliantly on educational visits throughout the year, including the recent RE visit to Friars and Tudeley and residential opportunities such as Swanage. The positive feedback we receive about their conduct on visits always makes me extremely proud.
This year has also included a number of vaccination programmes. Once again, the visiting healthcare teams commented on the outstanding behaviour, politeness and cooperation shown by our students, reflecting the positive reputation Year 9 have developed.
As I write this newsletter, students are taking part in Sports Day and a range of enrichment activities as we celebrate the end of another successful year. We will finish the year with our final Rewards Assembly, recognising achievement, attendance, effort and contribution across the year group.
I would also like to publicly thank Mrs. Lawson for her dedication, commitment and hard work supporting Year 9 throughout the past three years. Mrs Lawson has provided invaluable support to students, families and staff alike, and we are extremely grateful for everything she has done. Whilst she is moving into a new role within the Academy, we are delighted that she will still work with some of our students. I know many families will join me in thanking her and wishing her every success in her new position. Moving forward into Year 10, all communication regarding your child should be directed to Mrs Clark-Keen and Mrs Ashby, who will continue supporting your children as they begin their GCSE journey.
Finally, I would like to thank all parents and carers for your continued support throughout the year. The success of our students is built upon the strong partnership between home and school and your encouragement and support play a vital role.
I wish all students and their families a safe, restful and enjoyable summer break. We look forward to welcoming our new Year 10 students back in September, Friday 4th, refreshed and ready for the exciting challenges ahead.

Dear Year 10 Parents and Carers,
As we come to the end of another successful academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and to congratulate our Year 10 students on all they have achieved.
A particular well done goes to all students for completing their Work Experience placements. This was a valuable opportunity to develop new skills, build confidence and gain an insight into the world of work. We encourage students to reflect on the experiences and knowledge they have gained and use them to help shape their future aspirations and career choices.
Congratulations also to the students who were successful in gaining Year 11 Prefect status for September. They have already demonstrated the qualities expected of our student leaders, providing outstanding support during the two Year 6 Induction Days and representing the school exceptionally well at the recent Art Exhibition. As students move into Year 11, they will begin their final and most important GCSE year. This will include two sets of Pre-Public Examinations (PPEs) before they sit their final GCSE examinations in the summer. We encourage all students to enjoy a well-earned summer break while also preparing themselves for the exciting and challenging year ahead. Returning refreshed and ready to work hard from the start of September will put them in the best possible position for success.

A Final Message to Our Year 11 Students
As another school year comes to an end, we'd like to say a huge congratulations to all our Year 11 students. You've worked incredibly hard and shown resilience through the challenges faced during the exam season. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you as well as your parents and carers, for their continued support and encouragement throughout the Cornwallis journey.
On Friday 12th June, we held a special Year 11 celebration assembly, giving students the opportunity to reflect on their last five years at school. They enjoyed signing shirts, writing messages to each other, and capturing lasting memories with friends through photographs. In recognition of all their hard work and dedication, students also enjoyed receiving special rewards.

Dear families,
An incredibly busy term for our sixth form community as exam season comes to an end and all of the enjoyable end of year activities take place. We had our Year 13 Prom at the end of last term to see them off and they celebrated the end of their school journey with us. This was held at Bearsted Golf Club and was a fabulous night full of lovely food and a lot of dancing!
We then had Sixth Form Induction days to welcome our potential new sixth form students into school to try out the range of Level 3 courses we offer. On the Friday those who braved the heat came bowling with us and enjoyed their time with new and old friends. We look forward to welcoming them to our Sixth Form community in September.
We celebrated some of our Year 12 students who were nominated by their teachers and enjoyed the day at Thorpe Park as a reward for academic achievement and community spirit.
Our Year 12 students have now gone out into the world of work for the final week of the summer term. They are placed in a wide range of businesses and workplaces and it is an amazing opportunity for them all and invaluable to help them consider what they may want to do when they leave school. We do hope they have enjoyed their time, made the most of the experience and learnt a lot about themselves in the process.
We end this year looking ahead to exciting times for our sixth form, our Kent Panthers Academy has had an extremely successful first year and we look forward to building upon this! As always, our established football academies with Maidstone United and EMC are also still as popular as ever.
Finally, we will begin next academic year with a new Head of Year 12, Mr Smith, and Head of Year 13, Mr Errey, so student support will go from strength to strength. We wish all of our sixth form community a wonderful summer and will see you in September.
