Winter Rules

WINTER RULES

Never throw a disc that might hit a person.

Many park visitors are unaware that disc golf is played during the winter.

Out of Bounds (OB)

A disc that goes into a private yard (or OB road) is played as follows:

  • Move disc to the closest inbounds position (often the road), even if it improves your lie. Do not return to where the disc was last inbounds.

  • Place mini (up to 1 meter from the OB area), play without penalty

  • Please avoid throwing over fenced yard on hole 5, regardless of your lie

All roads (except Park Ave and Denison Pkwy) are inbounds, play it where it lies.

If a player hits a car, they must rethrow from their previous lie and will incur a one throw penalty. The player must leave a note for the car's owner, even if there is no apparent damage.

A disc that crosses the green fence is OB. Walk around fence to retrieve disc, and play from closest inbounds position without penalty.

Any park structure is inbounds. If a disc comes to rest on top of a structure, place a mini below the disc and play from there without penalty. If this is not possible (such as the building on hole 3), place a mini directly behind structure (touching it) in a straight line with the disc and basket. No extra relief is given.

Water. If you play from the water/ice you are in bounds and incur no penalty. Do not go onto ice or into water unless it is safe to do so or you have appropriate cold-water gear. If you choose not to play from the water/ice, the player may opt to throw from the previous lie at any point with no penalty stroke.. Be SAFE!

Discs that go onto the levy on Hole 10/11/13/14/15/16 are played where they lie.

Tennis courts and baseball fields are inbounds, no relief is given from the fence.

Mandatories are not enforced.

Disc lost in snow is played from presumed location (group decision) with penalty.

Optional Re-throw:

A player may opt to throw from the previous lie at any point and will incur a one throw penalty.

Handling an infraction:

If an infraction is debatable, the benefit goes to the thrower. Be gracious.
