In the fall and spring, practices are Tuesdays and Fridays from 5pm-7pm and Sundays from 10am-12pm. We practice out of Cascadilla Boat Club (CBC) in Stewart Park and row on Cayuga Lake. Click here to learn more about CBC. Rides to and from practice are arranged by the club through a carpool system. Practices consist of rowing on the water or, depending on weather conditions, erging, running, and other various land workouts. We row in both sweeping and sculling boats and are always looking for more coxswains. During our winter season, which runs from November through March, practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30pm-9:30pm and Sundays from 10am-12pm. These are held in the tank room in Teagle Hall on campus and consist of erging, core circuits, stationary biking, and rowing in the tanks.
For the fall season, the main regatta we attend is Head of the Fish. We also typically compete in a sculling scrimmage at Ithaca College with other nearby teams as well as scrimmages between teams that also row out of CBC. We are always looking to add more opportunities to compete in both the fall and spring.
CRC hosts a variety of social events ranging from team dinners, date nights, s'mores nights, and trivia. We also hold an end of the year formal banquet to celebrate everyone's hard work throughout the year!
