CopyVault ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome Extension, CopyVault Clipboard, handles your information. Unlike traditional clipboard managers, CopyVault is built with a Privacy-First architecture.
CopyVault is designed to work entirely on your local machine.
Clipboard Data: We access your system clipboard to provide history management features. This data is stored locally in your browser's internal storage (chrome.storage.local).
No Cloud Storage: Your clipboard snippets are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored on any external servers or cloud services.
No Personal Tracking: We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII), browsing history, or IP addresses.
To function correctly, CopyVault requests the following permissions:
Storage: To save your clipboard history on your device.
ClipboardRead: To automatically detect and save new copied text.
ClipboardWrite: To allow you to paste saved items back to your clipboard.
Offscreen: To ensure the extension can reliably access clipboard functions in the background.
Scripting: To facilitate the "one-click paste" feature in your active tab.
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your data to third parties. Since your data never leaves your local browser environment, we have no access to your information and therefore cannot share it with advertisers, government agencies, or any other entities.
You have full control over your data:
Individual Deletion: You can delete specific clipboard items at any time.
Full Reset: You can clear your entire history with one click in the extension settings.
Uninstallation: If you uninstall the extension, all locally stored clipboard data is automatically purged by the browser.
Data security is handled by the Chrome browser's sandboxed environment. Because your data is never transmitted over the internet, it is protected from "man-in-the-middle" attacks and server-side breaches.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
