Hair Instructions

All dancers must have their hair pulled back for both the Dress Rehearsal and the Recital!

Hair must be done before arriving at Ames City Hall. Dancers with hair not pulled back will not be allowed on stage.

PreK - 5th Grade

Hair pulled back in a tight bun, in the middle, back of the head.
Spray any flyaways or loose hairs with hairspray and securely pin dancers’ hair
Make sure all accessories are pinned in place
Dancers with short hair, please pin hair back so it is out of your face during the performance

6th - 12th & Adults

Low, center parted ponytail, pulled back and secured tightly
Spray any flyaways or loose hairs with hairspray and securely pin down any loose hair
Make sure all accessories are pinned in place.

Makeup Instructions

FULL MAKEUP IS REQUIRED FOR DRESS REHEARSAL AND RECITAL!

Makeup must be done by a parent or dancer prior to arrival at Ames City Hall, please do not bring your child with the expectation of someone completing their makeup for them.

💄Our Dance Recital Lipstick for 2025 is NYX Professional Makeup XXL Matte Liquid Lipstick- Strip’d Down Coral Beige
Eye Shadow should be browns and neutral colors only
False eyelashes are not required but recommended
Brown or black eyeliner with a slight wing
Brown or black mascara should be applied to eyes
Pink blush should be used on the cheeks
