With this online workshop we want to address the growing demand for practical guidance on how to adapt and enhance the Conservation Standards to conduct planning that supports Indigenous- and community-led conservation.

This is the second webinar of our collaboration with TNC’s Global Indigenous and Community Leadership in Conservation Program (Global ICLC) to scope the needs, possible uses and formats for a practical guidance document. We hope to learn from the diverse experiences and learnings from teams planning with Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IP&LCs) to develop a useful resource that assists conservation planning practitioners to work with IP&LCs.

The Community of Practice – Conservation Standards Projects on Indigenous Lands and Waters, Conservation Management and TNC's Global Indigenous and Community Leadership in Conservation Program (Global ICLC), are pleased to invite you to participate in one of our two multilingual virtual spaces, designed to suit different regions and languages:

CoP Indigenous CS Projects - YouTube Channel

To help us keep connected and better share and learn from each other, the CoP Indigenous CS Projects has set up its own YouTube Channel where we are posting our webinars. You can find on our channel our webinars from 2023 - while we are already preparing our webinars for 2024, where we will showcase how the CS have been used around the world with Indigenous People and Local Communities. Expression of Interest - CoP Coordinating Committee

Get involved! The CoP Indigenous CS Projects is seeking volunteers to join the CoP Indigenous CS Projects Coordinating Committee. The Community of Practice is part of the Conservation Coaches Network (CCNet) and its mission is to support Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs) by increasing access to relevant adaptations of the Conservation Standards, to foster community-led conservation initiatives on IPLC territories.

To expand our representation, we seek:

• two new representatives from Pacific Island nations to represent Oceania. 

For a more detailed description of the roles and to express your interest, please refer to the Expression of Interest and submit a short EOI addressing the criteria to CopIndigenousCSProjects@gmail.com by Friday, February 16th, 2024. Since the CoP Indigenous CS Projects focus on work with IPLCs, we prioritise expressions of interest from IPLCs.
