1. Introduction

Welcome to Converto.

Converto ("the App") is a currency converter application that provides exchange rate and currency conversion services.

This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use the App, why it is processed, how it may be stored, and which third-party services are used.

We respect your privacy and aim to process only the information necessary to operate, secure, monetize, and improve the functionality of the App.

2. Information We Process

Converto does not require you to create a traditional account using your name, email address, or phone number.

However, the App uses Firebase Authentication with anonymous authentication. This means that an anonymous user identifier may be generated and used to associate Premium subscription entitlement information with the App installation or restored purchase.

Depending on the features you use, the App and its service providers may process limited technical information, including:

• anonymous Firebase user identifier;

• device and application information;

• Android and application version information;

• language and region settings;

• device or other identifiers processed by Google services;

• subscription product identifiers and purchase-related information;

• advertising identifiers where applicable and permitted;

• technical information necessary for advertising, fraud prevention, security, and service operation.

Converto does not intentionally request your name, email address, phone number, physical address, or payment card details as part of its normal currency-conversion functionality.

Payment card information is handled by Google Play and is not provided to Converto.

3. Exchange Rate Data

The App retrieves currency exchange-rate information from third-party exchange-rate providers over network connections using HTTPS.

Exchange-rate requests may necessarily expose standard network information, such as an IP address, to the provider receiving the request.

Exchange rates are provided for informational purposes and may differ from real-time market, bank, payment provider, or card network rates.

Converto may cache exchange-rate information locally to improve performance and provide limited functionality when a network connection is unavailable.

4. Firebase Services

Converto uses Firebase services provided by Google.

These services currently include:

• Firebase Authentication — used to create an anonymous identifier required for Premium entitlement verification;

• Cloud Functions for Firebase — used to securely verify Google Play subscription purchases and process subscription-related events;

• Cloud Firestore — used to store verified Premium entitlement information associated with an anonymous user identifier.

When a subscription is verified, information such as the subscription product identifier and Google Play purchase token may be securely transmitted to the Converto backend.

Purchase tokens are used for subscription verification and acknowledgement. Server-side records may use cryptographic hashes of purchase tokens where appropriate.

The App does not currently use Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics.

5. Advertising

The free version of Converto may display advertisements provided by Google AdMob.

Google and its advertising technologies may process information such as:

• device or other identifiers;

• advertising identifiers where available;

• IP address and information that may be used to derive approximate location;

• device and application information;

• ad interactions;

• information used for advertising, measurement, security, and fraud prevention.

The exact data processed by Google may depend on your device, region, consent choices, Google settings, and applicable law.

Converto uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) where applicable to request or manage advertising privacy and consent choices.

Premium users are not shown the advertising placements that are disabled as part of the Premium entitlement.

Google processes information according to its own privacy policies and applicable service terms.

6. Premium Subscriptions and Google Play Billing

Converto offers optional Premium subscriptions through Google Play.

Available subscription plans may include monthly and yearly subscriptions.

Payments are processed by Google Play.

Converto does not receive or store your payment card number.

To verify and maintain Premium access, the App may process:

• subscription product identifier;

• purchase token;

• purchase status;

• subscription status;

• subscription expiration information;

• information necessary to restore and verify a previous purchase.

Purchase information is sent to the Converto backend and Google Play for verification.

After successful verification, the backend may acknowledge the subscription through Google Play and store the resulting Premium entitlement in Cloud Firestore.

Subscription billing, renewal, cancellation, and payment processing are managed through Google Play.

Cancelling a subscription does not necessarily remove Premium access immediately. Premium access may remain available until the end of the already-paid subscription period, subject to the subscription status reported by Google Play.

7. Local Data Storage

Converto may store information locally on your device, including:

• recently used currencies;

• favorite currencies;

• cached exchange rates;

• application settings;

• selected theme;

• selected language;

• consent-related preferences;

• limited cached Premium entitlement information.

Premium entitlement information stored locally is not intended to provide permanent offline Premium access. Cached entitlement information is time-limited and may require online re-verification.

Local application data can generally be removed by clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App.

Some subscription and entitlement information may continue to exist in Google Play, Firebase, or Converto backend systems as necessary to manage or verify subscriptions.

8. Data Sharing and Service Providers

We do not sell your personal information.

Information may be processed or shared with service providers when necessary to provide App functionality.

These providers may include:

• Google Play — app distribution, subscription billing, purchase verification, and subscription management;

• Google Firebase — anonymous authentication, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Firestore;

• Google AdMob — advertising in the free version of the App;

• Google User Messaging Platform — advertising privacy and consent management;

• exchange-rate providers — delivery of currency exchange-rate information.

These providers process information according to their own privacy policies, terms, and legal obligations.

9. Data Retention

Local application data may remain on your device until it is deleted, cleared, replaced, or the App is uninstalled.

Server-side Premium entitlement information may be retained as necessary to verify subscriptions, restore purchases, prevent fraud, process subscription events, and maintain accurate entitlement state.

Google Play, Firebase, AdMob, and other third-party providers may retain information according to their own retention policies and legal obligations.

10. Children's Privacy

Converto is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13.

We do not intentionally request personal information such as a child's name, email address, phone number, or physical address.

Google Play, advertising, consent, and other third-party services may apply additional requirements based on the user's country, age, and applicable law.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical measures designed to protect information processed by Converto.

Network communication with supported services uses secure HTTPS connections where applicable.

Subscription purchases are verified through the Converto backend and Google Play rather than relying solely on an unverified local Premium flag.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

12. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your country or region, you may have rights regarding personal data, including rights relating to access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection to certain processing.

Advertising privacy and consent choices may be available through the App, your device settings, Google settings, or Google's consent interfaces where applicable.

Google Play subscriptions can be managed through your Google Play account.

You may clear locally stored Converto information by clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App.

13. Third-Party Privacy

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Converto's functionality, third-party services, or legal requirements change.

Changes will be published on this page together with an updated Effective Date.
