April 2026 | Archaeological Institute, University of Cologne
The first ConTrA brought together researchers from classical studies, archaeology, game studies, media studies, and literary studies for a day of talks, discussions, and exchange. The atmosphere was open and collegial, with lively discussions that continued well beyond the individual presentations.
The conference opened with a keynote by Anna Falke (Boardgame Historian) on representations of Roman antiquity in modern board games, followed by six presentations covering topics from augmented reality and digital games to speculative fiction and literary adaptations.
