Steps to Disable Incognito Mode in Windows
Disabling incognito mode on Google Chrome for Windows 10 users is super easy. And it can be done with a simple registry tweak. Here is how.
· First, open the registry editor.
· Then, open the 'Start' menu.
· Now, in the search box, type "regedit."
· A program called regedit.exe will appear. Click on this program.
· If a warning comes up, click "Yes."
· Next, locate the Policies key.
· Now, start by double-clicking on "Computer."
· Then, double click on "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE."
· Next, double click on "Software."
· Finally, double click on "Policies."
· Next, create a new entry called "IncognitoModeAvailability."
· Now, right-click on "Policies" and select "New >> Key."
· Now, enter "Google" as the name of the key.
· Then, right-click on "Google" and select "New >> Key."
· Now, enter "Chrome" as the name of the key.
· Then, right-click on "Chrome" and select "New >> DWORD" (32-bit) value.
· Now, enter "IncognitoModeAvailability" (without the quotes) as the name.
· Then, right-click on "IncognitoModeAvailability" and select "Modify."
· Now, type 1 in the "Value Data" text box to disable Chrome browser incognito mode.
· Then, click "OK" and exit the "Registry Editor" program.
· Now, restart Google Chrome, and now if you open the settings menu, the "New incognito window" option will be disabled.
· If in the prospect you want to revert this setting and enable incognito mode again, you have to perform the same steps, only change the Value data from “1” to a “0“. That’s it!
