Contactable ("the App") is developed by Dr. Avneet Sandhu ("the Developer," "we," "us," or "our"). We believe your data belongs to you. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
The short version: We do not collect, sell, or store your personal data on our servers. All processing of your contacts, photos, and backups happens locally on your device.
To provide the App's core features (organizing, backing up, and cleaning your address book), we request access to the following data on your device:
Access: Read and Write access to your address book.
Purpose: To display your contacts, identify duplicates, allow you to organize them into groups, and enable the "Swipe to Clean" and "Backup" features.
Storage: Contact data is processed in your device's temporary memory and stored in local databases (Core Data) on your device for features like "Deleted Contacts" and "Backups." It is never uploaded to any external server by us.
Access: Camera usage and Photo Library access.
Purpose: To enable the "Scanner" feature, allowing you to scan business cards, QR codes, or import images for contact photos.
Processing: Image recognition and text extraction (OCR) are performed entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. We do not see or save these images to any cloud server.
All data generated by the App, including:
Contact backups (.vcf files)
Group rules
"Deleted Contacts" history
Settings preferences
...is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure storage technologies (Core Data and UserDefaults).
If you delete the App from your device, all local data held within the App (including App-specific backups and the "Deleted Contacts" bin) will be permanently removed. Your actual phone book contacts remain on your device unless you explicitly deleted them using the App features.
We maintain a strict privacy-first approach:
No Analytics: We do not track how you use the App.
No Accounts: You do not need to create an account to use the App.
No Advertising: The App does not display third-party advertisements or use ad-tracking frameworks.
We do not share your data with third parties.
You, as the user, may voluntarily choose to share data using the App's sharing features (e.g., exporting a Backup file or sharing a digital Business Card via email or AirDrop). This action is initiated and controlled entirely by you.
We rely on the robust security features provided by iOS. Because your data never leaves your device's secure sandbox environment (except when you explicitly export it), it benefits from the same security measures that protect your iPhone.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the App. Your continued use of the App after any changes indicates your acceptance of the new terms.
