Operations bosses have a 10% defense chance, which means DPS players need 110% accuracy in order to avoid missing an attack. Never compromise on accuracy! One missed attack may not seem like much, but that one ability may impact other abilities in your rotation. Level 80 characters need 2,694 accuracy points to have 110% accuracy.
All calculations assume that you have obtained the legacy wide companion accuracy buff.
Unlike accuracy, there is not a clear cut number of alacrity points that will best serve your character. There is a point threshold that will lower your GCD (global cooldown), but due to many factors, this exact number is not always effective. To counteract this, this guide adds a 150 point buffer to the correct threshold for your class. Some players may need a larger buffer due to increased lag or other factors.
Alacrity is a complicated topic. If you are interested in reading more, I highly recommend perusing Merlyn's Explanation.
Gear quality, most easily identified by color (purple=best, blue=middle, green=worst), does not affect the tertiary statistics. So for this guide, gear quality is irrelevant. Only the gear iRating is important.
Telekinetics Sage, Lightning Sorcerer, Dirty Fighting Gunslinger, and Virulence Sniper are the only classes that are best off using the relics that boost Mastery (Relic of Focused Retribution) and Critical Rating (Relic of Devastating Vengeance).
Diminishing returns refers to the point at which you would be better off adding more mastery than more critical rating. Suffice to say, a this time, no one should be hitting that point, and all augments not dedicated to accuracy or alacrity should be used for critical rating. This guide reflects this.
The numbers in the following chart are taken from the wonderful Sinrai.
Choose the class and gear rating below to find the most effective ways to gear your character.
There are many ways to reach the accuracy and alacrity numbers you need. Each chart is sorted by the most effective gearing makeup using gold augments. If you prefer using purple or blue augments (less expensive, but lower numbers), look for the line that is in the bold purple or blue color. If you prefer using no augments, look for the line that has no background color.

This is by no means a comprehensive guide, but rather an example of how this can be done.
