Intro/About Me

Hi there! My name is Connor Petrei. I am 18 years old and a Graduating Senior at Methacton High School. On this website you will see some of the work I have done in my Screen Printing and Graphic Design classes, and maybe a little story behind it. Anyways, a little more about me:

As I said earlier, My name is Connor My biggest passions in life are Snowboarding and, the theme of most of my projects, Video Games. Video Games mean so much to me; I've met a lot of great people through them, they've helped me through a lot of tough times, and they helped me to express myself. Video Games are an artform in and of themselves. There is so much expression that goes into video games, and its truly fascinating. I wanted to capture some of that within my work, so I made symbols of some references from games.

Other than that, when I design, the process that goes into it is much like my process with pretty much everything in life. I don't like to overthink things, and, while I typically end up overthinking things anyways, my best works comes from when I just let my instinct take over. When I just go with the flow, trust myself, and do whatever comes to mind, that's often when I perform my absolute best. The things that come from the heart often trump the things that come from the mind.

When I play games, I often play under the pseudonym Shotglass. I used to go by Golden, but I rebranded a couple months ago. This name was inspired by my Pop Pop, who sadly passed away in March of 2022. His death was really hard on me, he was a great man and somebody who inspired me a ton. Especially after he passed, I knew that he was the kind of person I wanted to be like; loving, genuinely caring to everybody around him, strong, brave, and somebody who'd do anything for those he loves. Over the course of his life he traveled an absolute ton, and he collected shotglasses from everywhere he went. This name is in memoriam of him.
