Hi! I identify as queer and use they/them/theirs pronouns. I'm from central Florida and currently live in Los Angeles with my partner. I'm also the child of a Venezuelan immigrant! My identity is always evolving and is often fluid, especially as I expand my knowledge and experiences as a queer person. I take my experiences and self and have them inform my passions, interests, and work as a human. The intersectionality and nuance of identity has always been of great importance to me and my focus since I started getting involved with activist work in high school, I think that's readily apparent when looking through my Capstone here for the Social Justice and Human Rights Masters program.
Currently, I work for a non-profit as an operations coordinator, but I have ample opportunity to help shape and execute our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion learning spaces for our staff which I have happily been able to use some of what I have learned and researched in its development. I hope to build on my experiences with social justice and human rights as I evolve as a person and in my career, though I don't dream of labor but Impact!
I'd be happy to talk about any of my work here: connor.john.perez@gmail.com
