Terms of Service for MealBuddy

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MealBuddy ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

MealBuddy is operated by Connor AI LLC ("we," "us," or "our").

2. Description of Service

MealBuddy is a mobile application that provides:

• AI-generated personalized meal plans

• Recipe suggestions based on dietary preferences

• Meal planning and organization tools

• Ingredient lists and nutritional information

Important Disclaimers:

• MealBuddy is for informational and entertainment purposes only

• It is NOT a substitute for professional medical, nutritional, or dietary advice

• MealBuddy uses AI (artificial intelligence) to generate meals

• Use meal ingredients at your own discretion

• AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies

• Always verify ingredients are safe for your specific dietary needs and allergies

• Consult a healthcare professional or registered dietitian before making significant dietary changes

3. Account Registration

Creating an Account

• You must provide accurate and complete information

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials

• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account

Account Security

• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account

• We are not liable for any loss or damage from unauthorized account access

4. Subscription, Payment, and Usage Limits

Free Plan

• 1. MealBuddy may offer a free plan with limited access to meal planning features, meal refreshes, AI-generated meals, and other App functionality. Free plan limits may include monthly or daily usage limits and may change over time.

Premium Subscription

• MealBuddy may offer a paid Premium subscription that provides access to additional features, including higher AI meal generation limits, meal refreshes, inspired meals, and calorie-targeted planning features.

• Premium does not provide unlimited AI generation, unlimited meal refreshes, or unlimited inspired meals. All AI-powered features are subject to fair-use limits, technical limits, abuse-prevention limits, and availability of third-party AI services.

• Usage Limits

  1. We may set, change, enforce, or remove usage limits at any time, including limits on:

     1. AI-generated meals

     2. Meal refreshes

     3. Inspired meals

     4. Calorie-targeted meal planning

     5. Other AI-powered or subscription features

These limits may vary by plan, account status, device, region, App version, promotional offer, or operational needs. If you exceed applicable limits, the App may restrict, delay, or deny additional AI generations or refreshes until your limit resets.

Subscription Status

• Premium access is determined by your active subscription entitlement as provided through our subscription management provider, RevenueCat, and the applicable app store or payment provider. If RevenueCat or the app store indicates that your subscription is inactive, expired, cancelled, refunded, revoked, or otherwise invalid, Premium features may be unavailable.

If you believe your Premium access is incorrect, you may use the App’s restore purchase feature or contact support

Price

• Price: $4.95/month, unless otherwise displayed in the App, Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or applicable payment screen. Prices are subject to change with notice where required by law.

Billing

• Subscriptions are charged through Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Stripe, or another payment provider shown at purchase.

Auto-Renewal

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period, or as otherwise required by the applicable app store or payment provider.

Cancellation

• You can cancel anytime through your Apple, Google, Stripe, or applicable payment account settings.

No Refunds

• Payments are non-refundable except as required by law, required by the applicable app store or payment provider, or granted at our sole discretion.

Changes to Pricing or Features

• We may change subscription prices, features, and usage limits with notice where required by law. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated price, features, or limits. You may cancel before changes take effect.

5. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems

• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality

• Use the App to harm, harass, or impersonate others

• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code

• Share your account credentials with others

• Use automated systems (bots) to access the App

• Scrape or collect data from the App without permission

6. Content and Intellectual Property

Our Content

• All content in the App (recipes, text, graphics, logos, etc.) is owned by Connor AI LLC or our licensors

• You may NOT copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without permission

• MealBuddy name and logo are trademarks of Connor AI LLC

Your Content

• By using the App, you grant us a license to use your data to provide the service

• We may use anonymized, aggregated data to improve the App

AI-Generated Content

• All recipes are generated by AI (OpenAI) and may contain errors

• We do not guarantee the safety, accuracy, nutritional value, or quality of AI-generated recipes

• You are solely responsible for verifying ingredient safety and recipe instructions

• AI may suggest ingredient combinations that are unsafe, unpalatable, or inappropriate

• AI-generated nutritional information (calories, macros) may be inaccurate

• Always check for allergens - we cannot guarantee allergen-free meals even if you specify allergies

• Use all meal ingredients and recipes at your own risk and discretion

7. Disclaimers and Limitations

No Medical or Nutritional Advice

• MealBuddy is NOT a medical device, health service, or nutrition counseling service

• ALL content is for informational and entertainment purposes only

• Consult a licensed physician or registered dietitian for medical or nutritional advice

• We are not responsible for any health issues, allergic reactions, food poisoning, or injuries resulting from following our meal plans or recipes

• Always verify ingredients are safe for your specific health conditions and allergies

• If you have food allergies, medical conditions, or dietary restrictions, consult a healthcare professional before using MealBuddy

• We do not provide personalized medical or nutritional advice - AI suggestions are generic and not tailored to your specific health needs

No Warranties

• The App is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind

• We do not guarantee the App will be error-free, secure, or always available

• We do not warrant the accuracy of nutritional information or calorie counts

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

• Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid in the last 12 months (maximum $59.40)

• We are not liable for food allergies, food poisoning, or health issues from using the App

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Connor AI LLC, its officers, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the App

• Your violation of these Terms

• Your violation of any third-party rights

9. Third-Party Services

MealBuddy uses third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): Data storage and authentication

• OpenAI: AI-generated meal content

• RevenueCat: Subscription management

• Apple/Google/Stripe: Payment processing

You are also subject to these third parties' terms of service.

10. Data and Privacy

Your use of MealBuddy is also governed by our Privacy Policy: https://sites.google.com/view/connoraillc/privacy-policy

We collect and use your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Termination

By You

• You may delete your account at any time from Settings

• Deleting your account does not entitle you to a refund

• Your data will be deleted within 30 days

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms

• Engage in fraudulent activity

• Abuse the service or harm other users

We will provide notice when reasonably possible.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• Updating the "Last Updated" date

• Posting a notice in the App

• Sending an email (if provided)

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Dispute Resolution

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your State], United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Arbitration Agreement

Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in [Your State] under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except:

• Small claims court disputes (under $10,000)

• Intellectual property disputes

YOU WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND CLASS ACTION.

Exceptions to Arbitration

You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of first using the App by emailing: legal@connoraillc.com

14. Miscellaneous

Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Connor AI LLC regarding the App.

Severability

If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right.

Assignment

You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights to any successor or affiliate.

Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (natural disasters, pandemics, internet outages, etc.).
