My Experience

I know how cities work—and I know how to use that knowledge to help it work better for residents.

Along the way I have:

• Served as a member of the City of Welland Heritage Advisory Committee.

• Served as president of the Cooks Mills group that hosts Easter and Christmas parties for families.

• Worked with municipalities across Ontario and Canada to share ideas on how to leverage information and technology to find efficiencies.

• Served as President of the not for profit Municipal Information Systems Association Canada (MISA) as a volunteer.

• Championed open and transparent government and am an inagural member of the Canadian Open Data Society (CODS).

• Completed professional governance training.

• Studied Planning and Urban & Environmental Studies.

• Consulted on digital government and customer service improvements.

• Built partnerships to solve problems and create opportunities.

AND I have lived in both the urban and rural areas of Ward 5.

These experiences have taught me the importance of good planning, responsible leadership and listening to residents.  The best communication comes when you know your audience.

They have also shown me that trust is earned through openness, accountability and respectful decision-making.
