I'm Connie McCutcheon, and I'm running to be your Ward 5 City Councillor.

I believe local government should be open, honest and accountable. Residents deserve a councillor who listens, asks questions and makes informed decisions that put our community first.

For more than 30 years, I have worked with municipalities across Ontario and Canada, helping improve government services, strengthen accountability and increase transparency.

Now I want to bring that experience home to serve Ward 5.

We Need a Government that Works for People

✔ Engagement. The people who live here know their neighbourhoods best. I believe residents should be informed early, heard respectfully and kept updated throughout important decisions. Good engagement builds better decisions.

✔ Responsible Growth. Growth should create opportunities while protecting what makes Welland a great place to live. Good planning means considering the environment, infrastructure, neighbourhoods and taxpayers before decisions are made.

✔ Respect for Taxpayers. Every dollar matters. Before supporting major spending its necessary to ask: 

• Is it needed?

• Is it affordable?

• Does it improve life for residents?

✔ Strong Representation for Ward 5.  Ward 5 is unique. It includes established neighbourhoods, growing communities and rural areas. Having lived in both the urban and rural parts of Ward 5, I understand that different parts of our ward have different priorities.
