Music we love

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES 

1) to activate vocabulary in the context of your favorite music 


2) to exchange opinions and thoughts on various music pieces 


3) to learn about other students' music tastes and connect cross-culturally  

PROCEDURE 

STEP 1

Find a video of your favorite music band, singer, composer, soundtrack, or type of music and upload it onto THIS Padlet. Let us know why you like the piece so much. You can use some of the guiding questions below to help you express yourself. 

Look at the videos already uploaded to make sure you do not paste the same video. 


STEP 2

Watch the videos uploaded by other students and choose one music piece which interested you the most. Add your own comment explaining why this music piece is most interesting to you and what you think about it. You can: 


When leaving your comment remember to be nice and tactful even if you can't find a video that you really like.

If you are ready for a bigger challenge and you would like to GO THE EXTRA INTERCULTURAL MILE, compare and contrast two videos from two different countries; explore the extent to which THIS music has influenced each country's culture.

COMMUNICATION

Students communicate orally, in writing, through memes or pictures to exchange their thoughts and opinions about their peers' favorite music pieces. 

COLLABORATION

By exchanging videos of the music they like, students initiate a type of collaboration in which they learn about each others' taste in music. 

This task is designed to be a bonding experience from which students might learn that although they come from different cities, countries and cultures, they still have a lot in common and like the same music. 

What's more, students might be exposed to music pieces they don't know, which will broaden their tastes in music.
