PROCEDURE

STEP 1

A/ If possible, work in pairs. If not, work individually.

B/ Study the guiding questions below

C/ Choose 8 questions that you are going to answer when watching the film.

STEP 2

In your pair, choose ONE of the following films:

1/ The Cathedral by Tomasz Bagiński Time 6:37. An Oscar-nominated animated sci-fi film, based on the short story of the same name by Jacek Dukaj.

2/ Shivering Trunks by Natalia Brożyńska Time 3:38. Short animated story about a creature with a latex trunk, who isn't happy about it. Polish film with English subtitles.

3/ Snack Attack by Eduardo Verastegui Time 4:41. An animated short pop-art film based on an urban legend. It aligns with Valerie Cox's poem Cookie Thief.

STEP 3

Watch the chosen film to answer your 8 chosen questions. Take some notes while watching it! They will help you give better answers to the questions. Focus on the questions!

STEP 4

Discuss the questions and answers with your partner. Prepare a recording of your answers using Vocaroo. The recording should be 2-3 minutes long and can take any form you want (an interview, a podcast, a lecture, a quiz). Both students in the pair must speak. Don't forget to mention the title of the chosen film.

TIP: Make sure you speak clearly and there are no background noises. Find a quiet place to make your recording. Don't wear masks or anything that covers your mouth as it might influence the quality of your audio.

STEP 5

Check the quality of your recording. If it's not good, record another one.

STEP 6

Paste the link to your recording on THIS Padlet. Make sure your link works well, and other students will be able to open it. If it doesn't work, record again and ask for help.

STEP 7

Listen to other students' recordings. React to them by leaving a comment. Express your agreement, surprise, disagreement, or whatever you think. Explain your point of view. Look at the examples.

Let the following questions guide  you:

Is there anything you disagree with/anything that surprised you/made you think?

How is your response similar/different?
