It is easy to travel by bus however we know that travelling by bus can feel a bit daunting when you are new. That is why we put together this quick guide to help you know what to expect. ENJOY THE JOURNEY!!!!

Before You Set Off Make sure that you know which service you need, where your bus stop is, and when your bus will arrive. You might also want to check return journeys so you do not miss the last bus home.
At The Bus StopBus stops are clearly marked with a sign, and busy bus stops usually have timetable information displayed. Remember, buses from the same stop may go to different destinations, so please check the service number on the front of the bus before boarding.
When you see your bus approaching, raise your arm to signal the bus driver so the bus driver knows you want to get on the bus.
Let passengers get off before you board. If you find it difficult to get on please ask the driver to lower the bus - they are happy to help. Please note that at bus stops raised pavements, you may need to still step up slightly.

Getting Your Ticket When you board, tell the driver where you are going and what kind of ticket you will need.

If you are not sure what ticket you would like then please do not be afraid to ask a driver they are there to help. Please keep tickets in your pocket or somewhere safe during the journey, as a inspector may ask to see it.
- Single tickets are for one-way journey
- Day returns let you travel there and back same day
- Weekly and longer-term tickets are also available for regular travel

Taking A SeatIf you feel unsteady on your feet, then ask the driver to wait till your seated before bus moves. IF ALL seats are taken please hold onto a rail while standing. When going upstairs, always use the handrail and take care of the stairs.
If you need to stand, move down the bus to make space for others. AVOID standing near the doors or blocking the aisle, as this can make it harder for others to get on and off.
Please offer your seat to someone who needs it more than you such as a elderly person, someone with disability, or a passenger carrying a small child. Some seats at the front are reserved for these passengers - please leave them free if required.

Travelling with Wheelchairs, Pushchairs or Luggage All ConnectNetwork buses are low-floor and easy access, suitable for wheelchairs. Each bus has a ramp at the entrance to help wheelchair users board easily.

You can bring a pushchair or buggy onboard. If the wheelchair space is free you can place your buggy there unfolded. However if a wheelchair user, wishes to board the driver may ask you to fold the pushchair and place it in the luggage rack. Please ensure that your pushchair does not block the aisle.
Shopping trolleys are welcome, provided you can fit them yourself when going on and off. Please take care not to block the aisle or knock other passengers.
Sad news, fixed frame bikes cannot be carried on our buses due to space and safety limits. Foldable bikes are welcome as long as they are folded and in suitable bag.
You are welcome to bring luggage or suitcases on board, as long as they are stored safely in the luggage rack or other secure space, and not blocking the aisle.
