Bobby got a new trampoline for his birthday. The trampoline looked like it was on the ground but it had a hole under it so he could b, b, bounce on the trampoline. Every day he practiced; higher and higher he would b, b, bounce.

One day Bobby had an idea. What if he climbed up on the roof of his playhouse? Then he could have a big, b, b, bounce.

Bobby scrambled up on top of his playhouse, and he jumped straight down to his trampoline. But instead of bouncing straight up, he flipped out! He did a somersault through the air, but lucky for him, he landed right in the middle of his trampoline, not out of bounds on the ground. He bounced down, bounced up, and around.

Dana couldn’t remember her a-b-c’s. She kept missing letter c, and saying a-b-d.

Dad said, “I know a trick to help you remember. Start by making a c. Place your pencil just below the fence, curl up and touch the fence, curl around to the sidewalk, then curl back up off the sidewalk, but stop before you make a loop. There! You’ve made the letter c. Now put your pencil on the rooftop, and drop a line straight down to close up the c. Abracadabra! The c becomes a d!”

Dana said, “Let me show you my magic trick. First I make a c, then I drop down, and the c becomes a d! First little c, then little d!”
