Directions: Make cards with each of these rhyming words that differ only in initial or final b or d. Make two 10-card sets for each group so that half the words feature b and half feature d. After you have read the stories and guided printing practice with b or d, have the student practice using b or d as a phonetic cue to recognize the words. For example, you could show the word bad and ask, "Is this bad or dad?" Use the initial letter cards in week one and the final letter cards in week two.
