Romantic Relationships

If you have a romantic partner, you may be curious as to how a healthy romantic relationship is supposed to feel and look- if you have these questions, this is the place for you!

Romance

Romantic relationships, first and foremost, should be fun, and you should feel safe with your partner! Your partner is someone who you care deeply for, and you should actively want to spend time with them, and being in their presence should make you feel positively. It is especially important to take the time to appreciate one another and be considerate of each other's feelings.

Conflict?

While conflict can be healthy and necessary, you should feel safe with your partner no matter the issue. Conflict often arises after someone crosses another person's boundaries, which is why it is so important to communicate clear boundaries.

On a more serious note, if your significant other is harming, harassing, or abusing you mentally or physically, find a way out of that situation immediately and to safety.

Two thumbs up: Consent!

One last time: you should feel safe with your partner. Consent goes for all touching, not just sexual favors. it goes for hugs, hand-holding, kissing, and even non-touching actions as well. always ask and communicate with your partner to see if they are comfortable with anything you do. And remember- no means no. Still learning? Check out this video to get a better understanding of consent!
