Practicalities
Conference venue: Chemistry Department, Lower Mount Joy, South Rd, Durham, DH1 3LE.
On Day 1 and Day 2, the conference will take place in the Scarborough Theatre (CG93), while on Day 3 we will be in the Lecture Theatre (CG85).
Timekeeping is strict and essential: each speaker will have either 15 or 25 minutes. We kindly ask you to carefully plan the timing of your presentation to avoid going overtime. Those who will go overtime will be stopped by the chair of their session.
Don't forget to attend the poster session on Day 2 at 13.45 in the Scarborough Café and Atrium.
In case of need, we can hold your luggage on Day 1 and Day 3 at the front desk, where they will be guarded at all times.
Coffee breaks are for all those who registered.
Lunch and Conference Dinner on Day 2 are only for speakers and chairs. Please note that vegan/vegetarian/pescatarian/ etc meals are reserved for those who selected these options when they registered.
If you are a member of the audience, the closest venue to purchase food is the Circolo Café, in the Palatine Centre (2 min from the conference venue: open 8 AM-4 PM Mon-Fri), or the White Church Café and restaurant (open every day 8.30 AM- 8 PM: as it is rather small, it may not be the best place to accommodate large groups unless with a booking).
A list of restaurants and cafes is available in the dedicated section on this website.
Before you leave Durham, make sure you pay a visit to our breathtaking Cathedral! It is open 10 AM - 4 PM Mon-Sat and 12 PM- 4 PM Sun. Admission is free of charge (a donation of £5 is appreciated).
