Reaching IITB

IIT Bombay is located at Powai, which is an Eastern Suburb in the north-eastern part of Mumbai. 

  Air Ports

International flights land at Terminal 2, Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (Sahar Airport), which is about 10 km from IIT Bombay. The Domestic Airport is at Terminal1A and Terminal1B (SantaCruz), which is about 15 km. Call taxis and Pre-paid taxis and autorickshaws are available at the airports.  

Suburban Railway Transport

Those coming by Central Railway Suburban train will have to get down at Kanjur Marg, Vikhroli, or Ghatkopar which are the nearest stations from IITB. If you are coming by the Western Railway Suburban train, you must get down at Andheri, Bandra, Goregaon or Malad.  

Public Transport

Mumbai has one of the most efficient and reliable public transport networks. One can travel by autorickshaws or taxis to reach IIT from the nearest stations (autorickshaws, however, do not go further south than Sion and Bandra). You can use the BEST Bus Network or the Mumbai Local Train System for longer distances.
