Gauge Logbook – Privacy Policy

ConAppSol, LLC ("Company", "we", "our", or "us") operates the Gauge Logbook tablet application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, and protected when using the App.

Gauge Logbook is designed primarily for organizational and internal operational use.

1. Information We Collect

Gauge Logbook is an offline-first application. Most operational data is stored locally on the user’s device.

A. Information Stored Locally on Device

The App may store the following user-entered data locally:

• User names

• PIN codes (used for in-app authentication only)

• Email addresses

• Certification and recertification dates

• Equipment and gauge information

• Project records and addresses

• Uploaded photos or documents

• Application configuration settings

This information is stored within the App’s private storage sandbox on the device.

B. Information Transmitted Over Network

Limited data may be transmitted when required for specific features:

• Email address of notification recipient

• Email subject and message content

• Subscription status information from Google Play Billing

Data is transmitted only when users enable email notifications or when validating subscription status.

2. How We Use Information

Information collected and stored is used solely to provide core App functionality, including:

• Equipment check-in and check-out logging

• Calibration and leak test tracking

• Certification tracking and reminders

• Project assignment tracking

• User authentication and PIN validation

• Notification and alert generation

• Backup and restore operations

• Subscription validation via Google Play Billing

We do not use collected data for advertising purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

Gauge Logbook uses limited third-party services:

Google Firebase Cloud Functions

Used to securely process email notifications.

SendGrid (Email Provider)

Used to send email alerts initiated by users or system rules.

Only the minimum required information (recipient email address and email content) is transmitted for delivery. We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Google Play Billing

Subscription payments are processed entirely by Google Play. We do not collect, process, or store credit card or payment information.

4. Data Sharing and Sale

We do not sell personal information.

We do not share personal information with third parties except:

• When required to deliver email notifications

• When required to validate subscriptions via Google Play

• When required by law

5. Data Retention

Operational data remains stored locally on the device until:

• The user deletes the data

• The user uninstalls the App

• The user exports or restores backup files

We do not maintain centralized user databases containing operational equipment or project data.

6. Application Permissions

Gauge Logbook requests only permissions necessary for core functionality:

• Camera (for QR code scanning and document capture)

• Network access (for email delivery and subscription validation)

• Storage access (user-initiated backup and restore via Android Storage Access Framework)

The App does NOT request or access:

• Contacts

• SMS

• Call logs

• Location data

• Advertising ID

• Background location

• Microphone

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical safeguards:

• App data is stored in private application storage

• Network transmissions use encrypted connections (HTTPS)

• Access to email services is restricted to secure backend functions

However, no system can guarantee absolute security.

8. Children’s Privacy

Gauge Logbook is not directed toward children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. User Rights and Control

Users may:

• Delete data by uninstalling the App

• Export data using backup features

• Restore previously exported backups

• Disable email notifications

Because data is primarily stored locally, users maintain direct control over their operational information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by revising the effective date above. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
