Government of Gujarat has developed a policy for providing assistance to Startups/ Innovation. Under this scheme, any individual/ group of individuals having innovative idea/ Concept will be eligible and/ or Universities/ education institutions, Incubation Centre/ PSUs/ R&D Institutions/ Private and other establishments will be eligible as an institution to support and mentor to innovators as approved by Committee. Startups in an economy's technology sectors is an important indicator of technological performance for several reasons.
Outreach and sensitize 5 million students for innovation and entrepreneurship, covering at least 1000 Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) and 10,000 Schools of the State.
Support to 10,000 student-led Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs/Prototype).
Assistance to 5000 IP filings.
Build capacity for at least 500 educational institutions and universities in the State, to have a robust preincubation support system for beneficiaries.
Nurture 1000 school student-led innovations
Groom 1500 student Start-ups and upscale existing Start-ups.
Incubate 500 Start-up (physical and virtual).
Support to 500 Start-up under Start-up Srujan Seed Support (Up to INR 10 Lac).

Under the 'Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav,' a grand finale event named 'Hackathon - 2022' was organized by the Department of Education, Gujarat State, in collaboration with Veer Narmad South Gujarat University. A total of 171 enthusiastic students formed 37 teams, including participants from KD Polytechnic. The victorious team will be awarded a prize of Rs. 24.5 lakh along with support for prototypes and patents. The event featured innovative solutions such as efficient water usage from AC units, simplified online government bookings, a user-friendly software to differentiate metals in e-waste, and a website aiding government-related tasks like birth-death registrations. A solar hardware capable of tracking the sun's movement for energy optimization was showcased. Dr. Kishorsinh Chavda, Vice-Chancellor of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, and other esteemed dignitaries offered guidance to the students, discussing how the Hackathon experience could drive positive changes and contribute to India's future.
At SRPEC, Unja, a group of 28 Semester-6 students participated in an instructive lecture on Python programming. The session aimed to provide insights into the functionality of Python as a computer language and its practical applications. The instructors adeptly explained the intricacies of Python programming and encouraged active participation through discussions and queries. The event served as a valuable platform for students to enhance their understanding of coding concepts and its relevance in computer science.
A gathering of 46 students from the ECE and Computer Departments took part in a knowledge-sharing session. The session was led by Mr. U.V. Patel, a skilled lecturer from the ECE department, who provided a clear explanation of the basics of Arduino Uno.
He elaborated on how Arduino Uno, a small computer board, can be used for various creative projects. The lecture helped the students understand how to work with this technology and bring their ideas to life.Following the lecture, an engaging hands-on activity awaited the students. They had the opportunity to run and test Arduino Uno using a virtual lab.
A total of 74 students from Semester-5 actively participated in the SSIP Sensitization Program. The seminar was expertly conducted by Mr. Sargam Parmar, who emphasized the significance of the program and its objectives. Through an informative presentation, he highlighted the key aspects and benefits of the program.
The program aimed to sensitize students about SSIP's importance and potential impact on their academic and career paths. Mr. Parmar's presentation served as a bridge to understanding, encouraging students to explore the program further and recognize its value in their educational journey.
KCG, Government of Gujarat organized a Job Fair on 16th March 2023. The event witnessed active participation from students from all departments. Notably, 41 students from the Department of Computer Engineering enthusiastically took part in the fair. As a result of their remarkable skills and potential, 3 students from the department were selected by esteemed employers during the fair. This event provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their talents and connect with prospective employers, further fostering opportunities for their future careers.
The Placement Cell at KDP Patan organized a workshop titled "IBM Skills Build Job Readiness Workshop." This workshop provided students with a valuable opportunity to avail themselves of free online skill-based training to enhance their job readiness. Throughout the workshop, participants gained insights into the essential skills necessary to secure desirable employment through engaging masterclasses and self-paced learning activities. Total of 242 students from computer engineering department registered and actively participated in this workshop.
HYTECH EDUCATION PATAN conducted an expert session on Overseas Education and Career Progression. The session was conducted by Mr. Ankur Pancholi, Branch Head at HYTECH EDUCATION PATAN. The session aimed to provide valuable insights into the opportunities and advancements available in pursuing higher education abroad and the subsequent career progression prospects. 47 Students from computer engineering department participated in this event.
Mr. Brijesh Patel, a Senior Angular .Net Developer from Macersoft Technologies in Vadodara, conducted an expert session on One-page Web Application Development. This session attracted the participation of 97 students. Mr. Brijesh Patel, with his extensive experience in the field, shared valuable insights and practical knowledge related to developing one-page web applications.
